I bought these because I cannot run all winter in the snow and ice in my Vibram Five Fingers. All things being equal, I prefer Vibram. These running shoes are waterproof, comfortable and very thin soled so they feel as close to barefoot as you could get and be in a shoe instead of a glove. My only complaint is that the material the top of the shoe shoe is made of is a little bit stiff, but I do not notice it when I am running. I do think these are very cute shoes with the gray and pink and wish I could have another street pair to wear all the time.
Brands I'd also recommend: vibram five fingers, merrill barefoot shoes

I love these shoes! They are perfect for winter trail running. These wide, flexible shoes are good barefoot choices for a wet rocky trail, sand or slippery grass. I also love my Merrell barefoot shoes - but they are not water resist and soles provide too little protection against sharp rocks. These shoes are a little too heavy for race day, so I may be shopping for a lighter version come spring. They are cute, too.
Brands I'd also recommend: merrell

I like these shoes but I just wanted to say that they do run small! I had to get a full size larger and I think I maybe should have even gone two sizes larger.

I love this trail runners, they are so comfortable and really exercise your foot! I use them daily to hike or when I trail run, they grip the ground so when you run uphill or you are going downhill, you feel connected to the earth, would highly recommend to anyone who hikes or runs in the woods!

I bought these shoes because I can't go barefoot in the winter, and I'd like a pair of barefoot trail running shoes. Since the trails are still snowy here, I have not done any trail running. However, I wanted to share my opinion of these shoes. First of all, they look fantastic and are pretty comfortable despite having no arch support. I went from my winter boots to these things, and it took a few days for my calf muscles to adjust. I found out they are definitely not for wearing on snow -- your feet get cold very quickly due to the thin sole. Also, these do not provide traction on ice -- they were much worse than my boots. And they are most certainly not waterproof! I got a cold surprise stepping in a puddle. But the worst thing about them is the round laces -- they are always coming undone no matter how I tie them. I need to replace them with flat laces, which irks me, because of how much these shoes already cost. It's definitely a design flaw. Despite these drawbacks, I wear these shoes frequently. I love how they look, and when the ground isn't snowy and icy, I love feeling the ground beneath my feet. I also like that the soles are flexible but protect my feet from the gravel found often up here. I would definitely recommend these shoes, but with the caveats listed above.

I love vivobarefoot brand. I'm not a runner but I love their shoes for just every everyday or hiking etc. This shoe is a little uncomfortable at first because of the lugs but you get used to it and it's great for hiking. Not so much for everyday or in the city shoe. Although looks cute. Got tons of compliments on them.

Great trail running shoe. Runs true to size--in other vivobarefoot styles I've had to size up, but not so with this shoe. Very comfortable to run in and looks great! Easy overnight shipping. Thanks Zappos!

I might have purchased this shoe. It feels really good to have that zero drop feel. However, I have very weak arches and am prone to pronation and rolling towards the inside. While the zero drop style is good in theory for many people, I do not understand why the designers of zero drop shoes have not yet accommodated the wearer that is a flat-footed pronator. Vibram Five Fingers, for example, with their very thin sole, are fine for that type of person (and I love mine), but once you elevate that same foot off the ground with a thicker sole, still designed on the VFF-type last, the pronator is now prone to ankle stress and ankle twisting, because the foot now pronates not only off of itself, but also off of the platform of the shoe's sole. Hopefully the designers will rethink this engineering design. I think the Altra Zero-Drop shoe design (not sold on Zappos) is on the right track. Now, if they only made shoes for hiking.
