These were the biggest disappointment ever. I had seen them in a catalog and began looking for them online. I called the company to find out who was selling them and luckily they were coming to Zappos. I was thrilled to wait. I have since received two pair of the Veronica boot and one pair of chukka boots. The cut and silhouette are lovely and the leather is fabulously soft but I'm afraid that's the only nice thing I can say about Vintage Shoe Company shoes. I have a narrow foot but these shoes were very narrow and seemed 1/2 size too small. On all three pairs the right and left shoe didn't quite match. The seams/stitching was not identical and the edges of the leather were not trimmed evenly. Where the top was attached to the sole there was a large hunk of leather sticking up and some places where there was no dye and white areas showed. Only the top part is leather, the sole is "man-made" materials. A shoe this expensive should be entirely leather. It is the most poorly constructed shoe I've ever seen. I wanted to love it but it is awful. Zappos always makes returns so easy and their customer service is fabulous, so these go back tomorrow. The rep at Vintage Shoe Company told me they were rushing to get merchandise out to the stores and I think in their haste they have turned out a truly inferior product. They look like they got out of the factory before anyone took a look at them!

These boots are gorgeous. They are the kind of boots that get better and better the more you wear them. The leather molds to you - it's so soft and comfortable. Beautiful, rugged, comfy.

The boots are quite comfortable - no breaking in period needed. The leather has a very soft, worn-in look. The boots seem to run a little big and wide - I wear thick socks with mine and have no problem. Overall. they look great. I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Arguably the most gorgeous boots I've seen: supple leather, rich color, just the right height. The fit is a half-size small. I found the heal rubbed too much for my comfort, but I have had this problem with most footwear, so it could be me. I had to return them because I could not walk in them. Great boots though.
Brands I'd also recommend: Anything from this company.

This is a gorgeous boot, and exceedingly well made. I'm a bit puzzled by the other review claiming Vintage boots to be poorly constructed. I have four pair of Vintage boots (these, the Luisa, the Eliza, and the Juliet), and the quality and comfort are simply outstanding. It's true that the sizing is inconsistent from style to style, but this is largely due to the varying size in shoe lasts, as well as the fact that Vintage boots are all handmade -- every pair -- here in the U.S. (in PA, to be exact). It's easy to get consistency when boots are manufactured in a mechanized factory, but handmade means variation, by definition. For me, that's not a problem. I'm fine with small aesthetic variations, and I'm willing to experiment, since I find Vintage to be extremely well crafted and beyond comfortable. The only other boot brand I've worn that equals Vintage in comfort is Old Gringo.

I read the reviews, so I ordered two pairs, one in size 7 and one in size 7 1/2. I normally wear a size 7, but I couldn't even get my foot in the size 7 boot. The size 71/2 fit great on my right foot, but I had to struggle to get the left boot on. When I finally got the boot on, it fit ok, but the quality of the construction on the left boot leaves much to be desired. I had ordered these same boots from another company and had to send them back for the same reasons. It seems there is little quality control and standardization in the construction of this product as every pair of boots fits and feels extremely differently. I acknowledge that variations in handmade goods will exist, but this is beyond acceptable. Sadly, I will be returning these boots. Too bad because the style is awesome, the leather beautiful.

Third time is the charm! Have these boots in brown from Sundance. Right out of the box they were a perfect, comfortable fit and true to size (7M). So when I saw them on Zappos in black I ordered them in a size 7, but I couldn't even get my foot in the boot. I sent them back and I ordered a second pair in size 7.5. One boot fit fine, the other was a struggle to put on, so I sent these back. I love my brown boots from Sundance (also made by Vintage Shoe Co.) I decided to give it one more shot. The last pair I received in size 7.5 fit just fine. Not as well as my brown pair, but well enough to live with. So, if you can find a pair that fits, these boots are awesome, but you may have to give it a couple of tries.

Very beautiful and pre broken in. Soft comfortable footbed. But runs very small. I wear a 9 1/2 and tried them on with super thin stockings and they were tight! I ordered the 10 and am wondering if they will fit? They are narrow too. But very beautiful. I hope they fit because I love them.
