These are the coolest, hand-crafted shoes but be warned they ran 2 sizes too small - and are very narrow (and I have a small, narrow foot).

Beautiful handcrafted leather boots. Worth every penny, just get the right size. I have these in a 9.5 and wear a 10 running shoe and 9.5 in most boots and casual shoes because I go sockless. I could have gone up 1/2 a size in these, and some of you might want to go a full size if you like loose right out of the box. They're narrow but have broken in nicely (worn 1-2x week for 2 months) and are getting more loose and comfy with each wearing. I stuffed socks in them to get them to widen some and the uppers have become very pliable. Only complaint, that my right knee aches if I have them on all day and walk a lot or far. I feel arch support but it's not nearly enough. With a little more room, you could put in a more supportive insole.

These ran at least a size too small. I also found the tongue and eyelet leather so thick that it looked funny when they were laced up. This was probably magnified because they were tight on me.

These shoes are beautiful, but the sizing is completely off. I am a true size 7 and I cannot get my feet into them. I am returning them and am hesitant to exchange for another pair because of how far off these are to a size 7.

Beautiful well made leather old fashioned quality boot. But alas, runs at least one size small. I wear a womens size 11. For some reason they decided not to make them in my size, so I tried a men's size 9. They were marked med, instead of D in width. Should have been marked AA narrow in width. The size 9 fit in length perfect but squeezed my narrow foot inside. Finally had to take them to a local cobbler to have them stretch in the width. Now finally I have a nice pair of boots that fit. Whew, not sure if it was worth all the hassle. From what I've learned about this company Vintage Shoe, is they really need to seriously review their sizing of their shoes? Also tried the Vaughn chukka boot, it seemed to run very true to both length and width. Doesn't anyone try these on there at the factory. Maybe a size specialist or something. Maybe they just need to re: size these a little more accurate? They have been making boots for a long time, go figure?

These boots have a wonderful old-fashioned vintage look, but I have to agree with the other reviewers about the sizing. I normally wear a size 9 shoe and sometimes an 8.5. I had to go to a size 10 with these boots to have a good fit. They seem to be very comfortable right out of the box, although I have not worn them for a long period of time so they are not broken in. Very soft leather and a nice patina. Overall, a beautiful boot.

I purchased these in my regular size (7.5), and unlike many of the other reviews, they fit perfectly. I will agree that they run narrow, but I have a (very) narrow foot. I typically struggle to find boots that fit properly, and I still can't believe I found these. I can't tell you how thankful I am. They are absolutely stunning. The leather is soft and supple, with a very beautiful patina. I have paired the boots with everything from dresses to skinny jeans and have received dozens of compliments. The quality is suburb, and I find them oh-so-comfortable. Comfortable enough that I haven't added an insole, which is something I always do. Whatever size you end up settling into, you will surely not be disappointed. Cheers!

I wear a true women's 7, based on previous reviews I ordered both 7.5 and 8. I only needed to go up to the 7.5. They are snug when you first slip them on, but after a few minutes they mold to your feet and become like slippers. The leather is super soft and footbed has nice cushioning. I've worn them to work comfortably for 10 hours, they are as comfy as sneakers. I love the vintage styling and can't wait for them to scuff up a little more. I'm still trying to figure out how I want to wear them as far as slip on or tied. My husband liked the style so much, he's going to order a pair. Great purchase and Zappos sent them with free upgraded shipping. Instant satisfaction.

Excellent-quality leather; classic styling. Sole is much thinner than expected; with regular use, I would not be surprised if they need to be re-soled in about 2 years. Footbed cushioning is adequate; arch support is average. Be sure to order a full size up; I wear a 9, but took previous reviewers' advice and bought a 10. Fit is ideal when sizing up.

Firstly Zappos, you rock. Unbeatable service. Nuff said, now onto the shoes. When you open a box of Vintage Shoe Co. shoes like these, the first thing you notice is the amazing aroma of real leather. Not some chemical dye smell, but a real leather smell, the kind of which you get when you walk into an old equestrian store or a artisan leather workshop. And when you pick up the boot you know you are holding quality. The leather is butter soft, absolutely no break in needed they mold to your feet in an instant. Leather lined all the way through. And the style is pure classic. You could wear these walking through muddy woods or in the city with skinny jeans or a cute boho dress. They will never go out of style. Plus they already come with rubber protection on the soles, so no need for scuffing the sole or slipping around in the rain. I listened to all of the other reviews and ordered both my regular size and a half size up. My regular size fit like a glove. Although I do have very narrow feet, I feel like there is still some room to spare, but if you are a thick socks kind of person half size up would also be fine. I don't understand people saying that they had trouble putting these on. People, they have laces...Loosen them right out and the shoe with it's super soft leather opens out like a butterfly. And I am 6 months pregnant, so if anyone is having trouble putting shoes on right now, it's me ;) I bought these boots because I realized that with fall approaching all my other boots with their 3 inch heels were not going to be practical. I wanted a sturdy, yet elegant and timeless boot to carry me through the last few months and beyond, and I have found it. I probably spent an entire day searching, and in the end I was comparing to a pair of Frye's and decided on these. I am glad I did. Don't be afraid of the price tag, you get what you pay for with the quality here and you'll be wearing these for a very long time to come.

I fell in love with these boots at first sight, but then reality reared its ugly head. They just didn't fit well on me. I tried them first in a 9, my usual size, but they were way too tight. So then I got them in a 10, and I could wear them with heavy socks, but they looked like clown shoes. Definitely consider getting them larger than your usual size. I think the problem is that the toe, which is more pointed than the VSC's Vanessa, tends to limit the roominess of the toe box. Other differences from the Vanessa were that the V's tongue is padded, and the collar at the top of the shaft is also padded. On the Lilly, there was a rough spot where the back loop (to help pull the shoe on) meets the body of the shoe. I didn't feel it if I had tall socks on, but I definitely felt it without the sock material in between. Re the difficulty getting them on, the tongue goes up to about the third (from the bottom) lace holes (you even put the laces through the tongue!), so you pretty much have to completely unlace them to put them on. Even then, it's a bit of a tussle to get them on, and I have very narrow feet. The somewhat cushy insole does not appear to be removable, so if you want to add an orthotic, you will definitely need a larger size than usual. The arch support is minimal but it is there. The outer sole has very small ribbing, so don't expect these to have the rugged treat of hiking boots. I think these are intended for more casual wear. I looked at these boots in Stone Suede also (very soft and pretty suede), and I need to mention that if you have a very narrow, flexible foot as I do, a ridge shows over the top of the boot due to a reinforcement of the toe area. If your feet are more normal, I'm betting the ridge wouldn't show. These are great boots in both the harness leather and the suede, and if you can find your proper size, go for it. Plus, they are made in America! Yay!

Lovely shoe! Beautifully crafted with supple leather. Gorgeous color and padded bed. I wear a real 7 and ordered a half size up after reading some reviews, but unfortunately that did not work for me. In my experience, the shoes run quite long and are roomy, so the 7.5 look like a clown shoe on me! I should have ordered a half size down. Will return and may try to get the 7 if they have it in stock.

I tried over and over to wear these boots but they were so completely uncomfortable. They were way too narrow and there is a hard part at the heel that gave me blisters. I returned them.

Beautiful beautiful shoe with a great vintage look. Agree with past reviews- you get what you pay for. Quality of the leather and construction is top notch. I also agree with reviews that mention the shoe runs small/narrow. I normally wear a 8.5 medium width and went up to a size 9 and the fit was great. Going up a whole size would have made the shoe way too long. Shoe is comfortable right out of the box- though as with any quality leather shoe, it will only get better with time as it molds to your feet. Would have given 5 stars all across the board but the width is still ever so slightly tight. Not uncomfortably tight but enough to hold back the 5 star rating on comfort. Given the nice leather though- this will stretch out with time. But again- overall, a wonderful shoe that is worth the money. I would definitely recommend to anyone with narrow to medium feet width.
