I really love this boot but am returning because my heel slips and they take a bit too much work to get into. I'm thinking of sinking the cash into a pair of Gentle Souls similar boots in brown instead. Don't get me wrong -- these are adorable -- just think I can do better for the price.

I seriously didn’t think I’d be writing the review that I’m about to write. My first VSC purchase was for the Mollys, which far exceeded my expectations in every way by their wonderfully malleable, incredibly soft and supporting leather and most of all – fit. It was a glove for my foot. It was a sock, but bigger. I was so totally impressed by the fit and feel that I wanted to purchase their Jennifer style as I really liked the idea of the straps. What came in the box several days later was the complete antonym of everything the Mollys were. I’m an 8.5 in everything. The Jennifers were far too small, far too uncomfortable everywhere and had a fit that made me think there was an actual construction/design defect, as opposed to simply being the wrong size. Many reviewers have said that the heel slips out the back. Mine did too, but in my opinion this is not size related. The lower back heel of the shoe should be constructed to “fit” your heel in snugly and hold it there as you walk. That “supporting” part which should hold your heel is actually too small and too low down, making your heel lift as you walk, and making you think you need to push your heel down further/order another size. But no – it’s the actual heel itself that is the problem. The inside shoe box simply has a really weird and uncomfortable feel and fit. I simply could NOT have lived with the constant annoyance of my heel lifting. These were the opposite of Molly in every way. The rest of the foot didn’t even feel like Molly. I was so disgusted with the overall fit and feel of this shoe I didn’t bother ordering a size up. They went back and because of that, I honestly don’t think I’ll look at purchasing another VSC shoe again, which is sad, because with the Mollys I thought I’d tapped into a really great brand. But this kind of major design flaw is enough to put me off.

Can't say how much I love these boots. They are beautifully crafted and loaded with hip, but understated attitude and style. Think of them as grown up Doc Martens. Each times I've worn them I got compliments from complete strangers. Look great with leggings, jeans or skirts with tights. Worth every penny. I can see these becoming my perennial favorite for years to come.

Love this boot, it's retro cool, comfortable right out of the box and goes with everything. I found them to be true to size and had no problem at all with the straps or the leather like some of the other reviewers. IMHO, it's a perfect boot!

Love the boots. They are comfortable right out of the box and they look great. The only complaint/issue I have with the boots has been mentioned by others - the straps could be sturdier, but I will replace them if needed and that issue certainly would not make me send these boots back.
