This is the best kitchen gift I've given myself. Making my favorite banana, strawberry, blueberry smoothie use to be a pain in the neck with my standard blender. So much to clean and lug out of storage. Now, I zip everything into the beaker that comes with it and in a flash I'm done and everything is washed and put away in one of my kitchen drawers. I also use it to semi-puree my Weight Watcher's Garden Vegetable Soup. Perfect! It was more expensive than others I tried but worth every penny and with Zappos' great delivery I was using it within the day.

This thing is awesome! It blends smoothly and very quickly. You can tell the motor is powerful. It works on more than liquids too. I have made blended soups, guacamole (with the blender attachment) and the smoothest mashed potatoes. It takes less than a minute to blend each (30 seconds for soup) and I have had no issues with lumps at all. The only minor drawback is that it is loud, but that is to be expected with a powerful motor. It is still quieter than my traditional standing blender. It is also easier to clean than I expected. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the Viking hand blender. I am not one to spend money on non essentials, but this one has proved its worth.
