Awesome shoe - I am quite rough on shoes and this shoe has held up better than any other brand I have worn. Also it is an extremely comfortable shoe.

Not for wide feet - Perhaps Vasque is new to us folks with truly wide feet. In NB, I wear a 13 EEEE. And (e.g.) I know I will never be able to wear a Reebok. That's ok, they just don't make a last for my feet. But plenty of others do. Saucony, Timberland, Propet. I just have to put Vasque on the list of shoes that will probably never work for my big 'ol dogs.

Must be European, sizes run small - A great shoe by looks but I had to return it because their supposed wide shoe was anything but. Can't say anything more because I had to return the shoes since they didn't fit.

SHARP LOOKING & COMFORTABLE SHOES! I bought those shoes for my husband to have something for our walks and to go with jeans as well. He LOVES them and is getting many compliments on how they look. He says they feel great, since they come in Wide sizes, he was able to get the right fitting shoes he always wanted for everyday wear.

Gear of the Year Mistake - This is one cheap shoe. I bought it after it received the "Gear of the Year" Award for 2003. What a mistake! Sure, its light but that just about covers it. Arch support is non-existent, biomechanic functions are flawed, material durability is questionable, and result is a terribly cheap award winning shoe. Not suitable for Appalachian trails.

I have a wide foot and a high instep, I work standing 8 hours a day and I don't own a car - when I want to go somewhere, I walk. I walk several miles a day. These shoes leave my feet feeling good at the end of the day. The traction is also great, I feel safe wearing these on snow and light ice (not smooth/glare ice). They also look great, I get compliments every day.

Nice shoe for distance.... I ran my leg of the Canadian Death race in these shoes - good stability, not bad to run in, cost me one toenail, primarily due to my not cutting it back at the start. They're "Miled out" now, but still the first shoes I reach for when I leave the house - comfortable, great tread wear (assuming you are trail running...) and I think they look pretty snazy. They come up a little higher on the ankle then my regular runners (Saucony, nike, asics) but I found the extra height made them a little more stable - probably saved my ankles a few times. Highly reccomended by me, I look forward to trying the lightspeed (If I can find it in CANADA - Come on Zappo's, ship them to the Great White North!)
Brands I'd also recommend: I never tried another pair I would say are comparable.

Great shoes - I had been stuck in a rut of Nike's running shoes which were okay in the wide variety but a pain to find... So I started poking around and found Zappos and which led me to the Vasque velocity. The shoes are awesome I really love them, they were comfortable for my somewhat wide feet right out of the box. Zappos was great giving me a free shipping upgrade just because so I got the shoes on Friday after ordering on Weds. I have been singing the praises of my new vasques as well as Zappos > I recommend both highly. I can't wait to get them on the disk golf course.
Brands I'd also recommend: These shoes are awesome so other vasque shoes

Vasque Velocity Rates High - This is a very comfortable shoe. Great fit and flexible, not stiff. Could wear right out of the box with minimal break in period.

Great shoe - I've loved my pair for running. My wife also ran a 20k in Moab in hers. Only prob I've noticed is the arch support is a little lacking.

I currently own 3 pairs of the Velocity's. The original pair fit like a glove. Every time I slip them on for a trail run, they feel like they were made for me. Too bad I've basically worn the upper out--mostly cosmetic wear and tear. The tread is still is good shape. I run exclusively on rocky hilly trails with them with the occasional dirt single-track. They've been in and out of water more time than I can remember--they drain very well. There are other great trail running shoes out there, but I'd rather pay for the Velocity's than run in something else given to me for free. That's how much I like these shoes!

Worn to Death! I absolutely love these shoes! I've owned a pair for 1 1/2 years and they have worn suprisingly well. Performance on my weekly trail runs has been outstanding. Just bought my second pair from Zappos and am looking forward to their arrival!

LOOK WEIRD WEAR GREAT - Bought these last summer on a long vacation as the shoes I brought were breaking down. Brought them back to AZ and put them on the trail. A VERY HIGH PERFROMANCE SHOE. The cap toes just looks weird and after wearing them, the laces pull in and give the cap even more prominence. SIZE 15 and I need a good shoe b/c of back issues nerve damage. These fit the bill. Zappos is one of a kind. The best store on the web. Period.
Brands I'd also recommend: Montrail GTX, Propet Walker, Anything Ugg

Great shoes- I actually bought the old dark blue/"tangerine" style because I like the look better. These are absolutely fantastic shoes for trail running: nice hard rubber on the toe, low to the ground. My ankles feel nice and secure in these. And they last forever. I'm a heavy runner (5'10'' 190 lbs), I run about 18 miles a week on trails, and my last pair lasted over a year. I probably wear my shoes too long, but my New Balance 998's (road running shoes) don't last half that long.
Brands I'd also recommend: I've heard Montrails are also good trail-running shoes.
