Great day-hiking boots. No breaking-in required. Took them on 3 days of 6-mile hikes in the Adirondacks -- ended up being comfortable with great ankle support and tread grip for lots of steep (up & down) rocky, rootbound, wet and muddy trails. Only downside is not waterproof. But they do dry out quick. I would purchase them again in a heartbeat.

I need a 10 1/2, and this is one brand who carries the size in women's. Fits great, very comfortable on my first hike. I have narrow feet, but the laces allowed me a snug fit.

After trying out several hikers for a summer hiking trip, these Vasques were the last I tried (thanks for your patience, Zappos!). I could have saved myself a lot of trouble if I had just ordered them first, but without the comparison to several other hikers, I might not have known beyond a doubt just how great they are. These are lightweight, super-comfortable, and grip a variety of terrains like glue. They make even a not-terrific hiker (that would be me) feel as much like a mountain goat as it's possible for me to be. And interestingly, a friend who is an avid hiker and veritable mountain goat was also wearing the identical (men's) Vasque Breezes -- he has worn his for years and swears by them. Great boots! For what it's worth, I wear a 9.5 in street shoes and decided to just go ahead and get a 10, as you don't want your hikers to be tight and 9.5s I had tried in other shoes didn't seem large enough. The 10s fit like a dream and felt great -- never hurt or pinched at all. I have fairly flat feet and these felt like they offered support without being intrusive in the arch area. Definitely worth giving these a go if you like what you've read.

These boots were recommended to me by several hiking friends to fit my narrow heels. I have always suffered from blisters, but that is a thing of the past. Did a 12 mile strenuous hike yesterday with no pain or blisters! Lightweight, sturdy, Gore-Tex a plus crossing streams. Great boots!

I\'ve had a pair of Vasque Breeze for more than 2 years and hiked over 300 miles. The cushioning has held up well. At this points I\'m wondering how I will know when it\'s time for a new pair. I have a narrow foot and they fit well (probably a bit tight for normal feet). There was virtually no break-in period. I\'ve hiked in all conditions and never gotten wet feet even when stepping into water (with reasonable depth of course). They breathe well in hot weather and do fine in cold weather. Experiences of wet feet others complain about could be perspiration. Poor socks can create issues in the best of shoes. Smart Wool is a great sock to take care of perspiration problems.

Loving these boots ... from the first hike - I bought these boots anticipating having time to break them in before a big hike out west this summer. From the first hike.. they felt better than my boots Ive had for years. Feet are dryer and not a single hot or pain spot on toes or anywhere. Very comfortable. I bought 1/2 size larger to ensure space for double hiking socks.

I love these shoes! I bought them in brown a few yrs ago and just recently purchased them in black. I first ordered the speed cat in white leather w/ black in a 9. They were cute but I really needed an 8.5 and they seemed a little wider than the others (both claim to be a B width). I have a very narrow foot so a lot of tennis shoes tend look bulky- except for these. Zappos was great about getting my exchange to me within 24 hrs. I have been telling everyone about their awesome service! VERY IMPRESSED!

Best Hiking Boot Ever! I just returned from a Glacier National Park week long hike and wore the Vasque Breeze for the entire time and they were fantastic! Not only were the boots comfortable on the trails, they were great for climbing, melting snow, and looked great with jeans. I had a lot of compliments on their great look, too! I researched the boots before I purchased them from Zappos. Zappos is the best! I ordered a half size larger than I normally would and was glad I did!
Brands I'd also recommend: The Vasque Breeze is the best!

Vasque Breeze- After trying a different shoe from Vasque that was too small I ordered this one. It is a half size larger than my usual size but I knew as soon as I slipped it on that it was just what I was looking for. Just like Cinderella! It is a substantial shoe but not all that heavy. I wore them all day the first day and have been wearing them most days since. I would recommend them for anyone doing a lot of walking or even someone who is on their feet all day.

I took these boots on two hikes this weekend - one was very short (1 mile), and one other short (2½ miles) hike. I absolutley loved the comfort level from the moment I tried them on and had no issues with them during the hike. They provided great support around the ankle, too. I usually have lots of difficulty with finding comfortable shoes as I have a very narrow heel, long toes, and small foot. I wear a 5½-6, and I ordered a 6 and they fit perfectly. I am marking 4 stars and I am returning them because I crossed two small streams/waterfalls, and the boot is not waterproof once the water goes past the toe and lower leather area.. I am now purchasing the same size Vasque Breeze but with the Goretex for full waterproofing. I loved the look and style.
