I had been lusting after these shoes for a few years (it was the Velcro). My feet are slightly wide and these fit comfortably. Not the most supportive shoes, but still relatively comfortable and definitely better than Chuck Taylors. I can run around in these all day and my feet don't feel any worse for it. But most importantly, Velcro.

These shoes took a long time to break in. I usually wear some sort of flat Vans, but wanted something different. They actually hurt for a while on the sides where the holes for the strap are and near the front. I kept wearing them, though, and they're extremely comfortable now. Just had to get through that awkward phase! Also, I don't know if it's like this for everyone, but where the straps are longer than the velcro, the edges curl up a bit.

These look very good. And I love Velcro. They gave my feet some blisters near my toes. But that is OK. These shoes are not meant for hikes, just strolls.

These are a little stiff to begin with, but they break in. My feet are average width, and I didn't have any trouble fully fastening the velcro straps. Appearance-wise they're exactly what I expected; I just wish there were more colour options.

They are indeed bulkier when you receive them, but after all, they are skater shoes. I have no problem getting the straps over all the way. Very nice shoes but you will need a couple days of breaking them in. Also I would recommend you buy these shoes a half size larger than your normal size. I was excited when people said they received their shoes in a couple days with the free shipping option, I too chose the same option but didn't receive mine until the full week. Well, it was free so I can't complain! Overall great service.

Awesome shoe. Great to wear with shorts. The velcro straps really come in handy for easy on/off wear. Just make sure you order a 1/2 bigger. I normally take a US 9.5 mens in Vans footwear; however, I needed to move up to a US 10 for a better fit. Unlike the slip-ons, these won't stretch no matter how long and hard you wear them.

These are so easy to wear, they go with everything casual and are easy to put on and not too flat if I'm walking too far.

I love these shoes. This is my second pair. They are comfortable and stylish. Zappos was so convenient. The Vans store did not have my size and said it could be 1 to 2 weeks to get them in. Zappos had my size. I got them in a few days and I got free shipping!

Probably the best shoes I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable (a bit stiff to begin with, but is expected) and extremely cool. I still get compliments wearing this bad boys around. And no laces, but still stay tight, which is a super bonus. If you have any hesitations, buy 'em, you won't regret it.

I love Zappos! I bought these yesterday at 3 p.m. and received them this morning at 10:30 a.m. They went from Kentucky to Oregon in like 8 hours last night, for free might I add. I really like these shoes. I ordered an 8.5 which is usually just fine, but these shoes feel unusually wide and about a half size too big and I own like 6 pairs of Vans. Oh well, I don't think a half size will be enough to send them back for and I can just tighten the velcro straps extra tight.

Vans has commissioned a fine shoe. I am not sure why this model called "Prison Issue #23." Is it made by prisoners? I doubt it. Surely it is mere coincidence that it's made in China. Whatever the name means, I love this sneaker. There is more than a hint of Chuck Taylor aesthetics but it still has a nice "Vans" feel along with some velcro. A+.
