Vans started in Anaheim, CA in 1966 1966 Paul Van Doren and three partners opened the first store at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, Calif. on March 16. The Van Doren Rubber Company is unique in that it manufactures shoes and sells them directly to the public.
Early '70s - Skateboarders who like Vans´ rugged make-up and sticky sole are seen sporting Vans all over Southern California.
1976 - The Vans #95, now known as the Era, with a padded collar and different color combinations, is designed by Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta and becomes the shoe of choice for a generation of skateboarders.
1979 - The Vans #44 is introduced and with the help of skateboarders and BMX riders, Vans Slip-ons become the rage in Southern California. By the end of the '70s, Vans has 70 stores in California and sells through dealers both nationally and internationally
1997 - Vans begins creating the world´s leading action sports series with the purchase of the Triple Crown of Surfing; by 2000 the Vans Triple Crown Series will include events in skateboarding, BMX, surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and freestyle motocross
Fun Facts/Trivia:
1982 - Vans Slip-ons gain international attention and appeal when they are worn by Sean Penn in the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
2000 - Vans finances the production of Dogtown and Z-Boys, Stacy Peralta´s look at the beginnings of skateboarding and the personalities that evolved the sport. The film takes the Audience Award and Best Director Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The film is narrated by Sean Penn.

These are very well made and authentic looking. We always get comments, especially on the soles of the shoes because they have a cute footprint. The soles are sometime the most visible part of the shoe when he is sitting in his carseat/carrier. Have bought two pairs in different sizes so far.

Very cute, but hard to get onto my son's foot. And they don't stay on for long. If they won't stay on his feet there is no point to buying them.

These shoes are cute as can be! They are easy to put on my 3 month old’s tiny feet and I put them on him for every outing! The bottoms even have little footprints on them. I receive tons of compliments on these and will most likely purchase these in a size larger as soon as he grows out of this pair!

These are the cutest infant shoes EVER!! Everywhere we go my 3 month old son gets compliments on these shoes! The size 3 shoe is 5 inches in size. The bottom of the shoes are cute as well, with an outline of a tiny foot on each shoe. And, when the shoes are put together, the shoe bottoms spell out "Vans". I bought my husband the same exact shoes in a men’s size. It is super adorable when they both wear their matching checkered slip-on Vans. So happy with this purchase!!!!

I ordered the Kids Classic Slip On for a gift and I was very impressed with the service Zappos gave me. My item arrived the next day with no extra delivery charges and I did price comparisons and Zappos had the lowest prices. I will defiantly purchase from this company again. The product itself was of the highest quality. Thank-you Zappos!

Perfect! 1st time customer with Zappos. Totally impressed! The shoes came in 1 day after I ordered, even though I placed the order on Thanksgiving morning. Customer service was very helpful too. Kudos to Zappos!
