This is very sharp looking shoe. The suede and black out color scheme look very classy. I haven't skated in them, but rather wear them to job as a waiter. I'm on my feet all day and they still feel great.

Before ordering my new pair today I owned a pair of the all white chukkas. They were unbelievably comfortable and durable they lasted me 3 years, and I was very disappointed in having to throw them away, but today I ordered the black suede to make up for my loss. Thanks Zappos!

What a great shoe. I got these for my husband, because they're casual enough for work with jeans, yet they look really clean and together. The picture makes them look more casual. Oh, and the suede doesn't get dirty. He's worn them a month straight everyday, and they look brand-new. We did have to get some cheapo gel arch supports, but totally worth it. These are his go-to shoes without a doubt, and he's never worn shoes like these before. I can see him wanting another pair once these have had it years from now.

Need a pair of moccasins? Here you go. You put these on your feet and you are as quiet as a jungle cat. No support of any kind, but you should realize that going in. Not a complaint just a fact. Comfy. Not for hiking, running...just chillin'.

I've been waiting for this shoe to come back for around two years now. When it finally did zappos sent me an email right away. I immediately ordered them and zappos was nice enough to upgrade to overnight shipping. Very positive experience. I will certainy order from them in the future.

The best Christmas gifts are the ones you give yourself. I bought these chukkas in black suede; now really, is there any other color combination? They fit great (11.5 Vans always do for me) and look cool, and I'll be wearing them to Christmas dinner tomorrow. My old Airwalk Blammos (a similar but inferior chukka boot) are headed for the thrift store.

Bradford Cox has these! I got these and then went to a Deerhunter concert and he was wearing them and I said hey we have the same shoes and he said his mom got them for him! Crazy!

First off, the service was fantastic! The shoes, which are hard to find in the first place, were in stock and delivered to my door 23 hours after placing the order, with free shipping! As to the shoes, they are basically a well made suede, dressier version of a Chuck Taylor. I can wear them at work in comfort and without ridicule. Not sized the same as Converse, though. Size 11 in Chuck Taylor shoes still has room for my toes, but size 11 1/2 Vans Chukka has my toes right up against the front. I normally wear 11 1/2 wide. I should have ordered size 12.

These are the same Chukkas I loved in the 90s, the same style skated by Cardiel and Barbee back in the day and are just as comfortable today. These are a little taller than Half Cabs and protect the ankle a little better from the occasional loose board.

These shoes are a bit stiff out of the box. It helps to throw a gel insert into them as well. I've worn vans for over 25 years now and these are the only ones that are a bit uncomfortable until after a few days of wear. As far as style goes, these are what I wear when my old schools are just a bit too casual to wear out. Clean and classic, you can't go wrong with the Vans Chukkas.

I had a quality issue with the first pair of Vans I received (some heavy stitching on the top of the right shoe quickly came undone, just after 4 days). So I requested an exchange for a new, identical pair. The guy on the phone was perfectly understanding. Not only did they grant me the exchange, after a few days of wear on the shoes, they also offered me a free upgrade of overnight shipment. I received the new pair the next day, in perfect condition, and sent my worn/faulty pair back shortly after. Zappos kept me informed on both sent and received packages. As my history with this company attests, Zappos is certainly worth crowing about. They deserve to be lauded. Amen.

The shoes are everything I expected, they are sharp shoes. I question their ability to last they way they did in the 90s, but that's the way the globalization cookie crumbles I suppose. Either way, the mid-top chukkas are no longer available at the vans stores. All they have now are the low-tops which I'm sure are fine shoes, but look like your run of the mill skate shoe: bulky.

These are the best Vans I've ever owned bar none. Don't skate much any more. Rickety ancient I'm getting and all that but this little lovely is no nonsense foot wrap. If you prefer the puffy tongue, thicker soles you might want to move on but if you like maximum feel of the original sole and no nonsense upper you'll dig these. The little extra height of the chukka makes this shoe the default pick of any day. The material is a little thicker than the classic canvas and combined with the height gives the chuckchuck an excellent protection and wear rating. In a word: Dope!
