Great walking shoe. A bit more padding than the standard Era II's, and also breaks in faster. Runs true to size. Classics run a bit tight and Half Cab's run a bit larger than size. Highly recommended.

Best style of Vans so far that don't wear out immediately with normal day to day activities for my 14 year old. BMX biking, skateboarding and just kickin' it with friends. We bought two different colors because he has to coordinate his outfits!

I'm hard to fit in general and normally take a 13B, which led me to Zappos. These AV Era 1.5's attracted me with their color combination of the black upper and the gum rubber sole surround - really cool in my opinion. The ankle padding is sort of puffy looking - at least when looking straight down while wearing them and the rather coarse canvas upper material has to be constantly brushed free of debris, especially if you have a Persian cat. The foot bed is also inferior in cushioning compared to the standard vulcanized Vans. This might be because I took out the removable inserts and replaced them.

A great update to the classic Vans style. Sizing was true to all other Vans styles I own. A very comfortable shoe for everyday wear. I have to take a star away from the overall rating because the soles are slowly separating from the upper where the shoes bend. They are also a magnet for animal hair and fuzz.

I ordered these shoes after I wore out the first pair...they were an excellent skate shoe, very durable and super comfortable. I was really surprised when I was told my order would be shipped out sooner than expected - and then, when I opened the box, there was a can of sugar-free Red Bull, which went great with the Ketel One I had in the freezer. These are great shoes: very comfortable, light, and (so far) very durable. They also look better in person than in the picture. Get the Black Hemp with gum sole, they look great.

The shoe fits narrow. If you have trouble wearing narrow fit shoes (Nike, etc.), these will be tight.

Nice shoe. A bit narrow like all Vans. Not great for skating due to a short life span but overall I like the look and feel.

Brands I'd also recommend: I also bought a pair of Globe's for skating and I love them. Strong product with good support.

I'm a skater, but I bought these shoes to wear to work and stuff. I used to have the normal Eras, but they're so slim that I'd always be stepping on my pants. These are a great compromise between classic Vans style and comfort. The canvas looks like it'll rip easily if skated, but I'll probably give them a go in a month or two when I'm ready for new ones!

After about 2 weeks of wearing these my feet started to hurt really bad. They are just really uncomfortable shoes. they also really bother me while driving. also, be prepared for your feet to sweat more than usual when wearing them. Overall just a bad choice on my part, stay away.

The Eras look great but are very uncomfortable. The toe box is tight and made even tighter by the over padded tongue. I've always used the same size Vans; these were the first to be uncomfortable.

I love the way these look, but they fit terribly. The toungue on these shoes is really thick. I had a hard time even getting my feet in. The pair I got also has glue on the sides from when it was put together.
