Urbanears Reviews
While Urbanears Plattan ensures great volume control and amazing sound quality, the one thing this product lacks is comfort. After about 10 minutes of wearing these headphones my ears start hurting a lot; and I have heard the same problem confronts many other people.
I received these for Christmas, and was very excited about them. I do not like standard earbuds, but wanted something smaller than over-the-ear headphones, and I wanted the ability to pause my iPod from the line of the earbuds. These seemed perfect. They were great until just the other day, when I dropped them about 18 inches onto my own foot. My iPod was not damaged. The earbuds were not even jerked out of my ears. And yet the stem connecting the earbuds to the iPod bent, and the left earbud no longer works. I contacted UrbanEars, and they told me that "The plug/pins are put through vigorous testing (to ensure their strength and durability) before they are released to the market but, unfortunately, they are very vulnerable to sideways pressure such as what the pin/plug of your headphones would have experienced when the iPod was dropped." So pretty much, these are fine, as long as you never bend the pin in any way. Like, say, in your pocket. Or by dropping your iPod out of your pocket while you tie your shoes. Or anything like that which might happen in your normal, everyday life. I hate to write negative reviews. I almost never do it. But this is unacceptable.
These headphones are great. The sound quality is amazing, I'm hearing music differently than with my previous headphones (the kind that come with the iPod). They are really sturdy, and hold up well when they're haphazardly tossed in my purse. I've been recommending them to everyone I know who wants to listen to their music on the subway without sharing it with the entire train-car.
These are amazing! They fit right in my ear and so comfortable. Also, the sound is great and very clear. Up until now, I've only owned the cheap ones that cost less. I'm so happy I spent a little extra for these. It was worth it.

The sound I'm used to is that of the ear buds that came free with my phone, and before that, those that came free with my iPod. I'm not an audiophile; I can't tell you the first thing about these headphones' bass or treble. What I can say is that the sound is a significant step up from what I'm used to; the design is sleek and appealing; I'm able to adjust them to my small head without trouble; I can wear them several hours before starting to feel discomfort. My only disappointment is that the indigo color is not indigo at all, more a dark gray with blue undertones (to a casual observer, they are not identifiably blue). I've used mine now and can't return, but if I'd known, I'd have ordered another color.
I been driving myself crazy with headphone rage for the past few years. After my nice Bose died (after a year of use), I had to find something new. The apple earbuds don't cut it for me. I tried a pair of earbuds that you squeeze into your ear canal. I tried and tried to make them work but they always popped out! Looking for an in-ear style is next to impossible since most manufactures only make earbuds. Then I saw the Medis on Zappos! Who knew? I've been using the indigo color over the past few weeks and so far so good. I changed out the size so it's more comfortable. Granted, they're not as comfy as my Bose, but I'm not expecting a lot for this many bucks. Pros: the cord doesn't tangle, the cord has a mic with play and pause, stays in my ear and the price is right. Cons: the sound is OK but not great, doesn't have volume control and gets a little uncomfy after wearing for several hours.
I love these headphones, granted I just received them yesterday, but compared to paying a lot for other headphones, this is a great buy. Now, it took me a while to figure out how to put them in my ear, but hey, I don't like reading directions.... I use these with my Samsung galaxy 2, and the sound is surround; my commute to work was much more peaceful -- and if your from the city a peaceful commute is hard to come by.
These headphones are so comfortable and the sound quality is very good for the price, even on my iPhone it is a way better sound quality than the headphones that come with the phone. All the different colors make it fun to pick out and wear too. I love that a friend can plug right into my headphones too, that will come in handy for vacation and watching movies on long flights. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, the company offers other styles all with ways to custom fit them to your head/ears so if you aren't an over the ear headphone person they offer two in ear varieties as well. Something for everyone basically!
I love these! They have great sound! And they stay in my ears really well. I hated having to untangle my earphones every time I took them out, and these are much better.
A great design in concept, but the sound (especially bass) quality is well below par. While the cord and connecting snap felt sturdy, the monochrome design that looks so great in renderings really accents the mold part line in the plastics. The jack seemed a bit flimsy and finicky when inserting it into my laptop and my phone.Pros: Convenience, packaging, stylish design.Cons: Sound and build quality.
Fantastic! They have excellent sound quality, block out all outside noise and don't get tangled up. I really love that they connect and you can hang them around your neck.
I got pair of Urbanears Tanto and I'm happy to give them two enthusiastic thumbs up. This is a change for me from in-ear to over-ear headphones and they pair nicely with my phone. I've given them equal airtime with music and conversation and they are really solid. They are comfy, I can get them on and off without having to fiddle with inserting something into my ear, and the sound quality is definitely there. I love the simplistic design and even though they come in a vast array of colors, I went for black to keep it simple as I hop from one device to another.
I am very impressed. They fit very well and was happy to be able to customize them to fit my ears. The sound quality is great and everyone I talk to on the phone with them says they can hear me crystal clear. You can't beat the price and love the availability of colors.
I love these headphones! Super comfy with great sound. The headband is nice and padded, and I really like that the cord is fabric-wrapped so it hangs nicely and doesn't get tangled. I got the yellow, and the color is perfect - very bright!
Excellent earphones for traveling! Far more comfortable than in-ear buds. Larger driver than most providing good spatial qualities, bass is not as low as some bud types, but all other benefits outweigh that short coming. Good price point.
I can't fault the style; very cute and handy to keep around my neck when they're not in my ears. I'm not a real audiophile, so although my friend agrees with reviews that say the high end is cut out, that doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the volume control. Having previously used Apple earphones, I miss having the volume control in-line. But I won't go back because Bagis are so much more comfortable in my ears.
