About Umi Kids
Umi is exclusively a children's footwear company. The Umi founders and product development team bring over 80 years of combined experience to the brand, including work with well-known upscale retailers and European footwear brands. All Umi products are developed according to the unique needs of the growing child's foot and are manufactured of the finest materials and to the highest standards.
Umi understands and embraces the notion that style helps instill the self-assurance to smile bigger, laugh louder, and walk taller and it's evident in the shoes they create. I really thought these were going to be it -- surely that rubber toe equaled indestructible?! Nope -- my savage son tore through these is in less than 2 months. He wore them all of 6 times in December and early January and they looked so handsome on him I couldn't have been more pleased. Also, they fit his wide-ish feet and high insteps with no problem & I never had to listen to him whine about not being comfortable. The best part was that they pulled on in 5 seconds flat because of the elastic sides and the loop on the back of the boot, a definite boon when you are always running late. I was smitten. However, once we let the beast wear them to school every day, they went to the pot in 3 weeks. The rubber has come off the toe on the left boot and the scuffs on both boots are irreparable. They look like the work boots of a man who works in quarry 40+ hours a week, not a boy who is on the playground for a max of 7 hours a week, including after-school. You know your kid -- does he ruin every single pair of shoes he owns? Then he will ruin these too. If not, buy these! They are beautiful, comfortable, easy to wear boots and someone should enjoy them.
I am a big fan of Umi shoes. My 3 year old daughter has medium width but high in step feet. The straps on top do not rub against her feet. These are her everyday shoes to school. They bend well but sturdy enough to run on the playground. The silver color is beautiful and does not buff off. The Maryjane style is versatile to wear with either pants or dresses.
Purchase the shoes for my granddaughter. I ordered a few days before Christmas. I was amazed how quick I received them. They were packaged well. The shoes are adorable. I have ordered children shoes before and I will order again. Very pleased!
True to size. Extremely comfortable and like walking on air. My daughter loves them. The leather is soft and there is no arch.
These fit well; they are confortable, and my granddaughter is happy to wear them. She has worn them for an entire day without complaint. We did not buy them as snow boots, and I do not think they would work for extreme cold or snow.
Good shoes. My three year old son seems to like wearing them. They are not very cushiony though. I wish they had a bit more padding on the inner sole. Overall good shoe.
Extremely easy to put on. My 2 year old walks in them all day and still don't want to take them off. I guess that means they are comfortable. Very sturdy. Nice looking as well.
Just got these for my 3 1/2 year old. Seem true to size. He loves them. Pulls them on and off all by himself. They seem sturdy and well made, and they look great. It's only been a few weeks, but so far I'd recommend them.
I searched all over for cute, practical boots for my 22 month old. These are the best. He keeps them on, they are great for the wet weather of the Northwest and mostly they are super cute. I did spray them with a suede protector before he wore them, however.
I love these shoes. They are good quality and very pretty, and my picky daughter likes them too. They work well with casual or nicer outfits, and even dresses. Umi shoes are high quality.

Love, love, love. My son get's so many compliments. They are easy to slip on and look awesome.
Good boots. Fit well, are warm and do well in the snow. Don't like that they scuffed/peeled so quickly, but otherwise a good fashionable boot. I would buy them again.

Our 4 yr old daughter liked these the best as they have a decorative buckle on top of the touch-close strap. They are comfortable to her even though they have no arch support, I'm not sure at her age she needs arch supports anyway. Nice, flexible, smooth leather which is definitely not anti scuff, if that matters to you.
My (very picky) daughter loves these. She is just turning 4 and can get them on and off mostly by herself. We originally tried Uggs and she wouldn't wear them, so we tried these and they're great. Very comfy and the height doesn't seem to bother her. The black boot has purple stitching BTW, don't think it shows up well online. She just measures a 12 and we got a 30.

These are really cool boots perfect for cooler days. My 5 year old daughter got lots of compliments in the first week. It is very lightweight, she wears it almost every day to school and there is no smell! The only minor issue is that strings are coming out of the straps which make the shoes look much more worn than they are. The color black matches well with many of my daughter's outfits; however, it shows the dirt and dust a lot more than other colors. It is half a size larger than her true size.
I bought a similar shoe for my 4 year old last year and they held up for a year until the velcro started coming off. I bought a second pair one size up, now he's five. He can do them himself and they are at least water repellent if not initially waterproof.
I bought these for my niece in two colors. She loves them. My husband, who is the fashion expert in our house, commended me on my "great find".

My daughter tried them on and had trouble getting one shoe on & complained one was tighter than the other. She walked around a bit & described how it pinched v. the other shoe. I had her bend & kneel to try to stretch it out. But she said it didn't help. She took them off & I looked inside & they were both marked as size 35. Nevertheless I could visually see the size difference after putting them heel-to-heel & toe-to-toe. We really liked the style & soft rubber sole and are considering trying again. If we do I'll update/re-review.
The shoe looks great...but was disappointed as the Velcro strap is not long enough once to secure once the shoe is on.
