Use the thumb slide 'zip tab' on the zip file to extend out and control how much of the file you want to use. Holding the case as handle, shape and smooth chipped or ragged nail edges. After repairing nail, you can retract file easily back into the carry case to protect it from bending or breaking (and from purse fuzz or make-up gunk).
