New York based designer Gaby Basora launched the Tucker label in 2006 with a simple silk printed blouse and dress that took the fashion world by storm. Immediately drawing A-list fans such as Drew Barrymore, Liv Tyler and Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tucker has developed into a full collection of signature printed silk separates worn and adored by stylish women around the globe.
Gaby was born in the Midwest, raised on the West Coast and lived in Europe during high school. Growing up in an intellectual family, with young parents who drew artist friends from around the world. Tucker perfectly embodies this nomadic spirit, a sense of ease and carefree yet carefully considered. The Tucker collections are a tableau of Gaby's inspirations, whether it be a biography on a mid-century female scientist, an obscure album cover or a ceramic tile seen on a recent trip to Istanbul!
At age 16 Gaby Basora moved to NYC to attend Sarah Lawrence College. She fell into the fast paced world of fashion, assisting leading fashion stylists before becoming a successful stylist in her own right. She was constantly making things for herself and the attention from friends and strangers alike compelled her to design a line of her own. Gaby is a woman who embraces life. Designer, business owner, avid cyclist and mother of three. Gaby is deeply committed to the process of making beautiful things in a beautiful way. And that dedication is apparent. Tucker is 100% made in NYC, USA.
Tucker is celebrated today for its playful but sophisticated prints and universally flattering fit. Tucker offers women a spirited collection of original designs for the modern thinking woman.
