I have to say that I was a Hunter boot loyalist, but needed to change brands after my Hunters had a hole in them after only one year! I did some research and found this brand on Zappos. Wasn't sure at first since there were no customer reviews but I have to say that I am beyond happy for buying these. They are so much better than Hunters. They have great arch support, are more comfy than most of my other shoes, are super cute and ridiculously sturdy (feel like I can go on a hike). I highly recommend these boots for anyone shopping for new wellies -- especially if you're tired of Hunters. Best purchase I've made so far in 2011.

We live in a flood prone area, and ordinary boots, low and leaky, are useless. Pounced on these terrific rubber waders and they are now my find of the year! Rather nice looking for waders, beautifully made, slightly wide which makes them comfortable with or without socks, and fit my large calves perfectly. These are for life!
Brands I'd also recommend: These would probably be for quite active people, so the best shoes on earth to "keep you on your feet, traveling, are Merrell's. I worn mine- literally- Around the World!

I'm a big fan of Tretorn and own an old pair of their wedge-heeled rain boots, but this style let me down. I wasn't looking for anything fancy -- just a comfortable walking boot, so that I could chase after my kids in the rain/mud. These were just too clunky -- heavy, large for their size, and awkward to walk in. The sole was so stiff that I was exhausted after wearing them around the house for a few minutes. Too bad, because they manage to look cute for a big rain boot. Sending them back for a lighter weight, more fitted boot from Kamik.

I normally wear a 10.5 (I come from a family of Sasquatches), I ordered the size 10 and it was still too large and wide. I have athletic calves but the boots were way too big in that area, too. I wish the heel area had more stability because it flops and bends a lot when walking. I like the style very much but I ended up returning these. They were high quality though, so I will try another style from the same brand. Got to love Zappos returns.

About Tretorn
The company's association with life on and off court rapidly created something of a cult following surrounding the brand, a status which was firmly secured when Wimbledon winners took to the grass in Tretorn in the 1970s. Inspired by the high profile and success of the brand, Tretorn's canvas and leather Nylites were the only shoe in which to be seen wearing on North American campuses throughout the 1980s. Lean and understated, the Tretorn sneaker was the first luxury sports shoe on the market.
Tretorn’s expertise in rubber-made products demonstrates a consistent commitment to quality and brand over hype, offering a collection most appreciated by those with a practical sensibility and a lifestyle largely enjoyed outside. Because Tretorn celebrates a lifestyle, largely lived outside, Tretorn ensures that labor is not exploited and the production methods are continuously revised for the good of the consumers and the environment. This commitment to sustainability and safe products is embodied in their PVC-Free policy for all of Tretorn men's shoes and Tretorn women's shoes. It is a business practice for which Tretorn is widely recognized as industry leaders.

Love these boots! We have had a very rainy April and these have been so useful! They are cute and comfortable. I tried the Hunter boots but sent them back -- didn't like the fit. These are great.

I ordered these and a much more expensive pair, but these were more comfortable. I took these boots with me to Ireland and the extra weight was well worth it. They are comfortable (walked several miles) and completely waterproof. They have a nice wide calf so pants can be tucked in if it's really sloppy out. They even come with a bonus pair of laces - one light as shown in the picture that matches the trim and one dark that matches the boot. I am very happy with these boots.

These are great rain/mud boots! My office just moved and my new walk to work includes a dirt path that rivals a swamp after a good rain. I came home after the first trek through the mud, logged onto Zappos, and order some appropriate footwear. 4" stilettos do not do well in the mud, and do not look very good after trekking through the mud. Zappos was their usual awesome self and got them to me very quickly. I love them! Zappos and the boots. I normally wear a 6½, but ordered the 6 based on other reviews. They fit great, so you should order down. They are heavy compared to other rain boots that I have seen. I walk about two miles round trip in these and I think they are pretty comfortable for rubber rain boots. I probably would not take them out for a jog, but my feet are not aching when I get home. They are well insulated. They will be a good thing when the New England fall/winter gets here, but they are a little uncomfortable in the summer. However, I do not think that many rubber rain boots are going to be breathable. These are as stylish as rubber rain boots can be.

Just received my Tretorn's and I can not wait for it to rain! These are awesome! And Zappos you are amazing! I placed my order last night at 9:30pm and received them today at 1:30! These boots are comfy and the size is perfect - size 8, which is my normal size.

These boots would've been perfect for my large, muscular calves if only the toe box had been wider. I have a normal width foot but they felt too tight widthwise, especially on the outsides of both feet. The other thing is that they weigh 2 pounds each. That is pretty heavy. I felt like I'd be clumping all around town in them and it was hard to walk.

These boots are definitely durable and they look good. However, the top of the boot cuts really close! I have a relatively high arch, but these are the first boots that ever felt this tight across the top. If the hem of your pants or a fold in your sock gets in there, you may find yourself on a busy sidewalk in the rain trying desperately to get your foot out of these boots! But since the ankle is also pretty narrow, getting them off is not a graceful process. I wish they were not a death trap, because they look cute. I Also wish that could return them, but obviously I wore them outside. Oh well.

Awesome boots. Awesome! They aren't too heavy at all (but I'm used to wearing Sorels, which are awesome but super heavy) and have a terrific arch. They fit the way rainboots should - snug and secure, but with room for your foot to move without chafing. They come up nice and high (just an inch or two below my knee) and have so far kept my feet dry and warm (but not too warm!). So happy with this purchase.

These won! I purchased 3 other rain boots and had a little fashion show and these were the winners. I can't wait to wear them. I am a 7.5 - 8 and the size 7's fit me nicely. I just wish they could double as snow boots!

Great rain boot. My absolutely favorite and I've tried 7 different pairs. They are very comfortable (more padding and cushioning than the other Tretorns I tried and way more than Hunters). This book is a great choice for ladies like me who have wide, thick calves. Overall, I can't wait for it to rain more so that I can wear these all over town!

I got these as an exchange for a pair I returned that was defective - I didn't have many choices based on my size (most were sold out), but these are kind of cute. They are really clunky, though, and I feel like I am clomping around when I wear them. I bought some insoles for them, since I walk 1 mile to/from work. For short walks, they're fine without an insole. As for size, they seem true to size - maybe a tad big, but not a problem. As long as they don't spring a leak like my last pair, I'm happy!

I love these boots. I've ordered countless pairs trying to find a size 11 booth with a wide enough shaft for my 17" calves. These are not wide enough to tuck pants into but leggings are fine. Also enough space for my orthotic insoles which make them extra comfortable. And they're cute and walking in the rain was fun!
Brands I'd also recommend: Skechers, Keen

Love these! I've used them for everything from muddy yardwork to walking the dogs in the rain to wearing to work. They have enough room to tuck skinny jeans inside without being too tight. Have gotten lots of compliments on these. I am planning on wearing them in the snow with taller, thicker socks since they are absolutely waterproof!

So far, I really like these boots. They are seemingly very sturdy and I've managed to wear them several times for the entire day without problem. They look cute and not as generically trendy as Hunters. I have a very muscular calf (about 17") and these fit well without squeezing my leg, although there isn't much room to spare! Can still wear with lightweight skinny jeans.
