The company's association with life on and off court rapidly created something of a cult following surrounding the brand, a status which was firmly secured when Wimbledon winners took to the grass in Tretorn in the 1970s. Inspired by the high profile and success of the brand, Tretorn's canvas and leather Nylites were the only shoe in which to be seen wearing on North American campuses throughout the 1980s. Lean and understated, the Tretorn sneaker was the first luxury sports shoe on the market.
Tretorn’s expertise in rubber-made products demonstrates a consistent commitment to quality and brand over hype, offering a collection most appreciated by those with a practical sensibility and a lifestyle largely enjoyed outside. Because Tretorn celebrates a lifestyle, largely lived outside, Tretorn ensures that labor is not exploited and the production methods are continuously revised for the good of the consumers and the environment. This commitment to sustainability and safe products is embodied in their PVC-Free policy for all of Tretorn men's shoes and Tretorn women's shoes. It is a business practice for which Tretorn is widely recognized as industry leaders.

If you're like me and you spend 9 months of the year on a college campus in a city in the Northeast, there is no reason not to get wellies. I tried 3 other Tretorn pairs before this one: Skerry Reslig, Skerry Vinter, and the Sofiero (SP?) and none fit. My calves are 16" at their widest, and Reslig and Vinter were too tight on the calf because they have lining that takes away about an inch of circumference. The Sofiero was way too tight in the arches. This boot was fantastic because even with the strap pulled all the way across, there was still room to fit jeans comfortably. There's no fluffy lining, but the tops of the boots don't rub your skin either. Also, I usually wear 8.5 or 8.5 wide shoes. I got this boot in an 8, and they fit like a glove. If Zappos doesn't have these, check elsewhere, because they are definitely worth a look! Just because you have voluptuous calves doesn't mean you have to settle for those tacky short boots anymore!

This is an excellent boot. It has a light fleece lining which means it can be worn during 3 seasons. I took a long walk in the snow on a 25 degree day and my feet were not cold at all. My only advice is that I find the sizing to be a bit inaccurate. A 38 is more like a US 7.5 and a 39 is like an 8.5 so if you're between sizes, I would go down. I'm normally a size 8 and the 38 fit perfectly.

I was looking for rainboots for my wide calves (most rainboots' circumference measure 14-15" - my calves are 15.5"). I searched on Zappos by circumference and found these! They're comfy and light, and I usually wear them with leggings. They have more arch support than most rainboots; I spent a whole day in them and my feet were fine. They are definitely true to size (I'm a size 7.5 in sneakers). I ordered an 8.5 at first, but they were too big. Zappos expedited my exchange order(!) and the 7.5's fit me perfectly. They're lined so my feet were not cold in the snow/rain. Glad I finally got rainboots that fit and that they were from Zappos, who were amazing as always! The boots get 5 stars, but Zappos gets 10.

I have a wide foot, high arch and a wide calf. You would not believe how extremely difficult it is for me to find a boot that fits, that is until these. They are fantastic. Comfortable, fits like a glove, great for rainy days or mucking and working in the garden. I am very, very happy with the fit, the comfort, and the style. Highly recommend!! I am an 8.5 and since they come in whole sizes only I tried both 8 and 9... 9 was the perfect fit.

I just test-drove these boots during my subway commute before, during and after Hurricane Irene. I had to walk several blocks, and there were pools of standing water everywhere. These are arguably the sturdiest and most comfortable boots I've ever owned. My feet stayed dry, and I never slipped, not even on the slippery tile floors of the Pentagon City metro station. They are a bit heavy, but very sturdy. While everyone else was walking around gingerly in work shoes or weak-looking rain boots, I was zipping by in my Tretorns.
