from New York City!
I was looking for rainboots for my wide calves (most rainboots' circumference measure 14-15" - my calves are 15.5"). I searched on Zappos by circumference and found these! They're comfy and light, and I usually wear them with leggings. They have more arch support than most rainboots; I spent a whole day in them and my feet were fine. They are definitely true to size (I'm a size 7.5 in sneakers). I ordered an 8.5 at first, but they were too big. Zappos expedited my exchange order(!) and the 7.5's fit me perfectly. They're lined so my feet were not cold in the snow/rain. Glad I finally got rainboots that fit and that they were from Zappos, who were amazing as always! The boots get 5 stars, but Zappos gets 10.

Great rain boots!!!! Most comfortable I've ever had. You can really wear them all day long. The soles are soft and the wide shaft is great for my 16" calves. Wish they came in more colors.

Finally, the endless quest to find a rain boot that can fit over my calves (while still being able to tuck in my jeans)... is over! I'm a true 8, and these do feel slightly large, but I'm willing to make up for the extra space with some thicker socks. Extremely happy with this purchase.

I just test-drove these boots during my subway commute before, during and after Hurricane Irene. I had to walk several blocks, and there were pools of standing water everywhere. These are arguably the sturdiest and most comfortable boots I've ever owned. My feet stayed dry, and I never slipped, not even on the slippery tile floors of the Pentagon City metro station. They are a bit heavy, but very sturdy. While everyone else was walking around gingerly in work shoes or weak-looking rain boots, I was zipping by in my Tretorns.

I was looking for all-black rain boots that have flexibility in the ankle and I came across these! I originally ordered the Olivia by Kamik boots (which were way too tight in the ankle) and the Original Hunter boots (which go up almost past my knees and not worth the money) so I exchanged them for these and am very satisfied! I'm an 8.5-9 and have a very difficult time finding rain boots that fit because most don't come in half sizes. Problem solved with these Tretorn's! I ordered a 39(8.5) and they fit comfortably without being too short/tight or too long/floppy! Even though I have relatively skinny calves these boots are not too wide...my flared dress pants fit comfortably tucked in! I don't have wide feet but they are a little more narrow in the toe area than most rain boots but not unbearable (hence the 4 stars). Overall a comfy, stylish, flexible rain boot that is a great alternative to Hunter's! Would recommend.

About Tretorn
The company's association with life on and off court rapidly created something of a cult following surrounding the brand, a status which was firmly secured when Wimbledon winners took to the grass in Tretorn in the 1970s. Inspired by the high profile and success of the brand, Tretorn's canvas and leather Nylites were the only shoe in which to be seen wearing on North American campuses throughout the 1980s. Lean and understated, the Tretorn sneaker was the first luxury sports shoe on the market.
Tretorn’s expertise in rubber-made products demonstrates a consistent commitment to quality and brand over hype, offering a collection most appreciated by those with a practical sensibility and a lifestyle largely enjoyed outside. Because Tretorn celebrates a lifestyle, largely lived outside, Tretorn ensures that labor is not exploited and the production methods are continuously revised for the good of the consumers and the environment. This commitment to sustainability and safe products is embodied in their PVC-Free policy for all of Tretorn men's shoes and Tretorn women's shoes. It is a business practice for which Tretorn is widely recognized as industry leaders.

These boots are awesome! I have wide calves and barely fit into the Hunter Huntress boots. These boots are not only wide, but they have a strap in the back to adjust as well. These are comfortable and very waterproof! Highly recommended!

Liked this boot the best of 4 pairs tried, but it's too large in my usual size 10 and the rubber smell is overwhelming. Nice texture. The buckle in the back makes crossing my legs uncomfortable. Returning. Would like to try a 40, but it's unavailable.

If you're like me and you spend 9 months of the year on a college campus in a city in the Northeast, there is no reason not to get wellies. I tried 3 other Tretorn pairs before this one: Skerry Reslig, Skerry Vinter, and the Sofiero (SP?) and none fit. My calves are 16" at their widest, and Reslig and Vinter were too tight on the calf because they have lining that takes away about an inch of circumference. The Sofiero was way too tight in the arches. This boot was fantastic because even with the strap pulled all the way across, there was still room to fit jeans comfortably. There's no fluffy lining, but the tops of the boots don't rub your skin either. Also, I usually wear 8.5 or 8.5 wide shoes. I got this boot in an 8, and they fit like a glove. If Zappos doesn't have these, check elsewhere, because they are definitely worth a look! Just because you have voluptuous calves doesn't mean you have to settle for those tacky short boots anymore!

I got the green and the color is a very nice, dark olive. Goes with my whole wardrobe. Light, comfortable, flexible. I have wide feet and a little thicker calf, this boot still leaves room for tucking in. inside is very soft. Just love the shape and design, flattering to a wide foot. first take at a rain boot and I'm glad it's a total hit. Thank you Zappos for next day shipping!

These boots are well constructed and made of durable rubber. The first time I wore them they did not hurt at all. I have narrow feet with high arches and they fit pretty well. They are a bit narrow so if you have wide feet they may be a little snug at your instep. I am a size 8, and these fit true to size. The calf part is adjustable however when I tried to adjust it, the metal part did not fit properly in the other holes. Overall these boots look great and sophisticated, better then most rain boots that I have seen!

These are really great basic rain boots. I hate the kind that are so slim they stick to your legs. These have ample room in the leg to tuck in jeans without feeling like I might suffocate and they are a great thickness for all times of the year. All around great boots! As with all rain boots, I don't think they are ideal for walking around an entire day.... just a bit too stiff but I have found that pretty typical for these type of boots.

I really like these boots, but I was glad I read the reviews before I purchased them. They run a little large and definitely a little wide. However, knowing that ahead of time made all okay. They have been so comfortable trudging around in the rain and with the extra room and a good thick pair of socks, I feel ready for the snow. I also feel that they are much more attractive than Hunters.

Got these for my daughter when she couldn't fit the Hunter tall style. She is very happy with these and just wishes they had the fitted socks that Hunter offers! Wide calf opening is great. Hunter offers the Huntress but it seems rather low and also Hunters tend to look like they have a film on them after a short amount of use.

I ordered the 39 which is an 8 in the US and I need a 38 which is a 7 in US. So in my case whatever size you normally wear I would go down a size. I really like these rain boots. I like the color, plus they can be worn with anything!

Zappos! In a world where customer service often seems like a thing of the past. Zappos shines! I have purchased multiple items and have never been disappointed the service. I love Zappos! Now, these boots are awesome! I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and bought these for working on a ranch while owners were away... Slogged through everything with dry, warm feet and no mud on my jeans!

These boots are great! I had been looking for a pair that were large enough for my muscular calves and I actually have some extra room in these. It is nice so I can wear heavy socks in the winter without having my leg being squeezed. These boots do have a thin layer of micro fleece but are by no means insulated. I got a pair of fleece welly socks and with a good pair of wool socks my toes stay nice and warm when walking across a usually very slushy campus in the winter. The boot has great traction and are very comfy. I have been living in mine since I got them.

These are great boots! They are completely waterproof for jumping around in puddles and look pretty cute with the two toned blues. They are not very dressy, but that is not what I would purchase these for! I love them! Sizing says go a size lower. I wear an 8 so I got a size 7, but my toes are right at the end, so I would only go down half a size if possible at the most. I still can wear them fine, but they are a bit snug...
