To boot, didn't know they were still around. I bought a similar style to this in NYC back in 1987. Wish they still made the style I have, but the Hawthorne look close, mine just have a buckle across the front, no zip. I still have the boots! And I still wear them all the time. I've done absolutely everything in these fantastic boots. Work, play even fishing and camping trips (well after they had worn in and been abused). To this day, I'll throw them on with a pair of jeans and people say "those are really cool boots, where'd ya get them!" An amazing product that has stood the test of time. An everyday boot that has held up through a tremendous amount of abouse for over 20 years. They are like an old friend. Buy them!

This is a nice style, and they are very comfortable. They seemed to be good boots for walking to the train and then to the office and back. However they are poorly made and within a few weeks the right heel pulled away from the upper. That was very disappointing! I would not recommend these boots for people who plan to use them for walking.

First time dress boot owner - Having shopped around from time to time and never settling on a dress/casual boot I decided to try these. The break in time was 0. They were comfortable and really fit well. They're a beautifully made and comfortable boot. Glad I bought them, and yes I would recommend them to anyone seeking comfortable footwear with style in mind.
I'd also recommend: Mephisto's, Allan Edmunds, Ecco, Santoni, and Bruno's

Very stylish looking shoes and the studded soles work well in my rainy climate. As recommended, I ordered a half size smaller than my normal size and find that the width is a bit more snug than I'd like for comfort. They seem to be loosening up some with wear though.
