A bit taller and wider than I expected, but I chose this pack because it didn\'t look like all the others. It holds a decent amount of stuff - I recently carried about 25 lbs of groceries home in it. My only wish is that the pocket on the side was big enough to hold my Camelbak water bottle, and that there was one more exterior pocket so my keys and phone could be kept separately.

I have a small frame and this bag is big enough to carry the essentials, but does not look overwhelming when I wear it. My only complaint in the design would be that there is no exterior pocket where I can stow stuff in that I want easy access to, like a bus pass - the flap in the front, although it is very protective, gets in the way of trying to get something out on the run. Otherwise, it is well constructed and durable.

I love this backpack! It's larger than I thought it would be, but I'm very happy with it. I wish that it had a zippered small pocket on the outside to hold smaller items, but other than that it's perfect! No matter how much stuff I have crammed in there, it's not uncomfortable on my shoulders.

This small backpack was a lot bigger than I expected but once I got used to it I love it. This is how big it is: I was able to fit a 6-pack of beer, a whole chicken, my compact umbrella, my bulky wool sweater, and a 1200 page hardback Stephen King novel into it and I still had a bit of room left over. They only thing is it does make your back sweat a bit. I won't be using it during the summer.

I bought this before I started grad school, hoping that I could find a bag to fit my laptop and other essentials I carry around with me during my long days on campus. If I'm just carrying my laptop and some notebooks it's fine but once I added in a lunch plus snacks plus a sweater or umbrella or other additional items space got a little tight. As others mentioned there isn't much ventilation through the back so it can get a little sweaty. Also, in heavy downpours rainwater leaked into through the top a little and the inside of the bag got a little damp. It didn't seem to affect the laptop area but it still had me a little concerned. I sized up to a larger pack but I still kept this one for days I bike commute or if I only need a smallish bag.
