I have had this for about a month and have been happy so far. I bought it for my new 15 inch MacBook Pro. I would not use it for anything larger than that. It has sturdy construction and great compartmentalization. Low profile and stylish as well. You can hold it briefcase style if the situation warrants.

I love this bag! It looks great and is very functional. I adore the side access especially as I carry my iPad in there. This is my full-time "murse" and since I'm a geek it's okay with me and my woman. When she doesn't want to carry her purse I carry her wallet in here too. The various pockets and zippered areas are awesome. I keep assorted small items in the lower pocket and my wallet in the innermost for security. My sunglasses and cellphone go in the outside pocket for convenience. The various handles are, um, handy, too. This is my second Timbuk2 bag and I doubt it will be my last. The only thing I don't like about this bag is the chest straps on the shoulder straps. Why have them? This bag is not very roomy and I think you would be hard pressed to carry enough in it to make those straps necessary. I have a camelbak with straps like that and use them constantly. But, 2 liters of water is heavy! Add in biking stuff, extra tubes, some food and you need chest straps. The Q, though, I just don't see it needing it. The main compartment is good for holding books and papers, but I don't see myself cramming it full the way I did with my Hacker bag. Anyway, this bag makes a great man purse for me. I am very happy with it. Timbuk2 makes some of the best bags and this is no exception. It feels like someone designed it as if they were going to use it and understood what makes a bag useful.

I recently purchased the Timbuk2 Q backpack. I needed a bag to transport my iPad, lunch and other items to work in style. I did a lot of research, testing many bags from different manufactures but did not find the perfect bag until I discovered the Timbuk2 Q. Wow, well made, just the right amount of organization, storage, protection for my iPad, my search was over. To find a bag that was not too small where I could not put my lunch, rain coat and other items in the main compartment and not so big it would be bulky in a work environment was a challenge but Timbuk2 came through. I also did not want a backpack that looked like every other backpack, I wanted something with a little style. So I got a great bag, that's a great color (gunmetal / blue / black), from a great company and did I tell you it comes with a bottle opener? Sweet. I had read some negative reviews about the laptop compartment but Timbuk2 addressed it in the 2011 model and it is now perfect! Thanks Timbuk2, this will not be my last Timbuk2 bag.

I have a larger Timbuktu bag that I love but needed something smaller for travel. Fits my Macbook Pro snugly-wish it were a bit roomier for quicker removal at security, otherwise like all the zippered compartments/comfortable backpack straps.

Best pack ever! Computer storage is nice and padded, but not bulky. Hidden pocket is a must for beach use! Rugged and durable, yet light and presentable.

Simply the best day bag for work that I've ever owned, and I've tried many. Extremely comfortable and stylish, it's surprisingly roomy: I can fit my 17 inches Macbook pro, iPad, cables, graph and lined paper pads, mouse, pointer, accessories, etc. It's amazingly light too; other bags that accommodate as much are significantly heavier.

Meh. This bag is okay. I really like this company and have used several of their products in the past and just felt like I wanted a new bag for the new school year. This feels small and like it doesn't fit a lot. If I have 50 papers to grade and 2 books to read, I doubt they'd fit in this bag with my laptop as well. It looks cool and is comfortable to carry but if you're looking for something that has plenty of space, keep looking. Try some of the Osprey bags - they're much better for that kind of thing!

This is a great bag. It's as if it was designed by someone who used it regularly. It's got a lot of great places to put your stuff. The laptop/tablet spot is placed such that you can hang the bag off your left shoulder and open the bag to get the computer. Nice! The bottom compartment holds random stuff. I only put stuff in there that is not fragile since it will get pounded if you put the bag down hard. The outside pocket is good for sunglasses and such. Zip open the flap and find places to put your pens, pencils, and other similar items. Cellphone, business cards all can go there. The main compartment is kind of small, but it's big enough to hold a jacket and a couple of books. Or, lunch. I put a textbook, a small folder, and a jacket in there... and it's full. The straps are comfortable. There's a cool little secret pocket on the back to put your microfilm in or whatever stash you want to be kept secret. You know how security at places is totally overzealous these days? I have a tiny, seriously small Swiss Army knife. Honestly, it's a scissors, a pen blade, and a file/screwdriver. Three blades in total. There's the tweezers and the toothpick. Very dangerous, right? I mean, if I wanted to attack someone, I would present a greater danger if I had a ballpoint pen in my hand. I could give you a nasty manicure with it. But, security doesn't want blades of any size. So, I slipped past their checkpoint without them seeing that pocket. This bag has so many compartments that they feel like they checked everywhere. I do not recommend trying this at the airport. It will not get you past X-rays machines, so don't even try. You will end up getting a full cavity search, knowing the way those things go. There are loops along the side so you can carry it like a case, if you are so inclined. And, a loop on the top for similar purpose. The only thing I think it's missing is a key clip like my other Timbuk2 bag had. But, I forgive them because so much else is awesome about this bag. It's a great bag, very well made. This is my second Timbuk2 bag and I'm sure I will buy a third when the time comes. I make no bones about it; this is my man purse. I'm a geek and I like to carry stuff with me. This bag does it like a boss.
