I use this laptop bag for travel, so getting through airport with it is critical. The TSA compliant section works most of the time, but not always. When I hang it on my suitcase, it is not well balanced and often slides off because of its width. I have to keep turning around to center it on the wheeled luggage. Moreover, it is very difficult to carry since it is so big and bulky. Also no zippers to keep things secure under the flap so things can fall out easily if you don\'t secure the flap with the straps provided. This is especially true since the bag will not stand on its own without propping it up against something. It\'s a great idea for a bag, but needs some additional work to make it really user-friendly.\r\n

An amazing bag. I spent a lot of time looking around something that was rugged enough, yet still looked great around the office. I was also looking for something that wasn't too wide at the bottom where folders and books tend to just collapse. It has the perfect depth, a great assortment of pockets, and plenty of room for my laptop and iPad. The shoulder strap is really comfortable, and I like the handle as well - makes it easy to quickly pick up. Great purchase - highly recommended. Feels like it's going to last for years and years.

This bag is awesome. I use it for work as my briefcase and also use it as a messenger bag while on my bicycle. Like any Timbuk2 product, great purchase.

I have the medium Commute 2.0 and it fits my 15" HP Laptop just perfectly! It is extremely comfortable (seeing that I am in IT and I pretty much carry entirely way too many tools and widgets in my bag, I have no issues with the weight at all!). I have had the bag walking out in the rain and although the outside of the bag was wet, everything inside was perfectly dry!

I love this bag. My company provides us with the largest laptop available on the market so, I was worried it would be too small after reading the reviews but, it has worked out just fine. My favorite feature is the pocket on the back that slides over the handle of my roller bag--it's a tight hold and balances really well. The inside pockets are plentiful, with lots of places to stash stuff. I travel a lot and needed a briefcase that wasn't too stuffy, yet looked professional. Plus, it had to be something I could carry everything I'd need from flight to meeting and it's a worthwhile investment.

This is a great messenger bag for business travel. I am a bit of a road warrior and this bag works as advertised. It is durable, light weight, has a good strap, and is TSA compliant. Simply unzip the computer storage and lay the whole thing flat on the x-ray belt. There are plenty of storage pockets. I was concerned things could fall out but everything stays put. A great value overall.

I've not really had many occasions to use it, but this bag seems pretty good so far. I was looking for something that would be acceptable for an office job as a kind of briefcase/work bag, and that would also be stylish enough for a day at a museum or on the town. I think it works. The bag itself is well put together. It's got a lot of pockets of varying sizes and of various types (zipper, velcro, etc). There's definitely enough space to fit whatever you might need in there. If you're one of those people who need a lot of stuff, you might want to think about getting a Large, although I don't think it's available in this style. Check the other Timbuk2 messenger bags. I'm quite pleased with the bag and would recommend it. I gave it 4 stars for comfort because I haven't quite gotten used to it yet. The pad on the shoulder strap slips around a bit. When worn on the shoulder, it doesn't feel like the shoulder pad has much purpose on a suit jacket.

Love the bag but the colors don't match the picture. I shopped lots of sites and chose Zappos because of the great return policy and because the dominant color showed as grey not black like the other sites. I still love the bag as everything on it is very well thought out but I would have preferred the color scheme from the picture.

Love the Timbuk2 Commute bag. Small enough for everyday commuting, and great for quick trips for business or pleasure travel. The plentiful pockets within the bag keep everything organized and zipped up. As well - the pass-through for your rolling luggage works as advertised. All good - another Timbuk2 bag that I am happy to own.

Overall this is a great bag. As a long time Timbuk2 customer, I strayed from the path and tried the competition. Big mistake as the competitors' construction and quality was very disappointing. So far so good with this bag. Ample storage and the laptop compartment and sleeve are very nice. I will warn you that the laptop sleeve seems to be built for Macbooks and Macbook Pros. I use this bag for my personal Macbook and work laptop. While the Dell work laptop fits, it is a tight fit. Internal storage and number of compartments are great. Another well thought out bag by the gang in San Fransisco.

Just got this bag a couple of weeks ago. It's a lot bigger than what I expected, I would have gotten the small, but they didn't have it in stock and figured the medium would be fine as well. It is nice not having to put my laptop in a sleeve (such a hassle to zipper on and off!) and the bag has a lot of compartments and pockets which makes organizing all your little necessities a bit easier. I use it for work and it doubles as a great weekend/overnight bag as well (especially for flying!). Overall, although I would have liked something smaller, it is a great buy for the material and versatility!

I really like the styling and the quality of the workmanship on the bag. There are tons of pockets to get organized with, and a great middle section for purs items. It is my main work bag. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a casual, functional bag for computer, papers, and personal items.

The problem with the TSA part of this bag, and the tag that comes with this bag that shows the bag rolling through an airport x-ray machine, is this --- I was flying from Sacramento to LAX, and then back to Sac a few days later. Both times, airport security made me take my laptop out, and place it separately in a bin to run through x-ray. Kind of defeats the purpose of this bag if you ask me. I don't like the zipper compartment...as it's not waterproof and neither are the zippers...as you can read about on other website reviews for this product. It takes some getting used to; as if you carry a 15" laptop, the bag doesn't fold around your back...it's instead straight as if you were carrying your laptop in a sleeve. The phone pouch is much better in this bag than in Timbuk2 messenger bags. This one is narrower and doesn't have the plastic material in the flap. It fits a Blackberry Tour perfectly. The main compartment holds power cords, and a few clothing items for a trip. :)
Brands I'd also recommend: Incase has nice laptop compartments, but like Timbuk2, needs a redesign for bag as a whole.

Love this bag. Have had it for about a month now and have been very happy with it. The TSA compliance feature is great and makes getting through airport security easier; the bag has plenty of pockets; best of all, it's very durable but still lightweight. It also has a lot of little touches that make usage easier and make me thing that someone really put some thought into the bag's construction. For instance, the adjustment on the shoulder strap is by far the easiest I have ever encountered, and the Velcro closures on the flap are ample enough to catch without requiring that I use the clasps, but not so big as to make opening the flap difficult. Time will tell whether I continue to like this bag, but so far I am very happy.
