This bag is awesome! It has many pockets and wears comfortably under load. I have other packs with more volume, but I was looking for something on the smaller side and this fits my 13 inch MacBook Pro, along with a few smaller items perfectly. Timbuk2 has been going strong for years and many of the copy-cats lack on quality and functionality on. On and off a bicycle this bag is worth the coin.
I'd also recommend: chrome bags, columbia, vaude

I have three Timbuk2 messenger bags now - the small, medium and large. I love how they stand up to all the abuse I throw at them and still look great because they are so well made and the material doesn't rip or fray. I like this small one for going to the gym in my building packed with my keys, access card, water bottle, towel, headphones, iPod and a book to read while on the treadmill. This is also a great size when traveling and sightseeing internationally as it is perfect to wear crossbody and keep a camera, wallet, water bottle, maps and guides while exploring new cities. The one and only thing I would change is to add a grip handle at the top of the bag, otherwise - these are perfect bags!

Not perfect, but a keeper - Sturdy bag, comfortable, right size to fit lunch box and a book for the train, just what I wanted. Comfortable, plenty of pockets. The strap is long enough for a 6'3" man. A few notable cons: 1) My main complaint: does not have a handle! A small handle could be attached slightly behind the fold-over cover, without compromising the look. 2) Pockets are plentiful, but all way too small. Not a single reasonably sized pocket to stick a train schedule in. Pockets are both narrow and shallow. 3) Sliding shoulder pad is useless and odd looking. The belt is wide enough to be comfortable. Not that you can fit too much stuff in the bag for it to be heavy, either. 4) Rain proof? Not quite. The cover leaves half-inch gaps on each side, so if it really pours, you are going to have water in your bag. 5) There are massive velcro straps under the buckles, that take considerable force to undo. They render the outside buckles useless. Or the other way around. Velcro or buckles, not both. I cannot think of a single reason to have the buckles. They don't even look so great. To keep a subway thief out, maybe? No way -- the velcros make plenty noise to be heard through whatever you play on your ipod, impossible to open unnoticed. I'll keep it because I need a bag, but I feel I may regret this decision. No handle? C'mon!
