This comfortable, well-made boot is looking good even as it gets some scuffs and wear on it. It seems like an oiled finish, because I can buff out light marks in the leather. The only thing I dislike is the thin braided laces, which don't stay tied very well. I'll switch those out, which is no big deal. Overall, I'd recommend this boot and would buy it again.

I really like the boots, they are very workplace appropriate yet feel a bit more rugged. The leather finish holds every scuff but can be cleaned.

I looked forever for a decent pair of black boots without Gore-Tex that could be both functional and dressy. These boots are great. The are comfortable, with very short break in period, and are leather, so they are easily waterproofable.

The shoes themselves are perfect, well styled and designed, comfortable and of high quality leather. If your feet are large and odd-sized, though, like mine, you may fall in the gap between sizes 12 and 13.

Just received and started wearing these. They're awesome. Very comfortable, and look sharp. I'm replacing the brownish laces with some other, flat laces but other than that I'm super pleased with these chukkas so far.

These boots look solidly made, and the "green" manufacturing is a plus. In the end, though, all that matters is that they fit well, they're very comfortable, and (for me) they strike the right balance between dressy (with the pointed toe and smooth black leather) and funky (with the boot tread and the cool stitching). Plus Zappos service and shipping can't be beat!

I have wide feet, and have a very hard time fitting into most brands of shoes. Even going up a half-size I usually just deal with a little rubbing on my small toe. Not with these. I tried them on and they were comfortable immediately. I didn't see that they came in wider widths, but am happy to report that this shoe is a good fit for me. Normally, Timberlands are on my no-fly list for wider feet, but now I know that these are great I am going to try other similar styles in the wide width! Great construction, excellent material, these are exactly what I was looking for, make jeans look great and could probably do the dressed-up thing too! I'm a musician, so I can't wait to rock these on stage.

So happy with these shoes. They look amazing, the leather is soft and soles are comfortable. When I put them on, they felt like I had worn these for months; no need to break them in. The toe is slightly darker than the rest, which I like, but don't be surprised if you get them. I will probably swap out the waxy laces at some point, but these rock. I love how they can go casual and dressy at the same time.

This is a great pair of shoes. Very comfortable and they look pretty slick too. I had to exchange them for a 1/2 size smaller than my usual size, then they fit perfectly. Zappos did the exchange in one day for free. I am very happy with the service too.

I've been wearing these around Europe, and they work great. They're well-built, hold up in bad weather, and stylish. My feet still get sore on long hikes, so don't expect any miracles here; however, I'd still highly recommend them.
