Confirmed with Timberland that the missing grommets are intentional to create a "worked look." Boot runs small and narrow -- as mentioned by others, order a size up. I have runner calves and am just barely making it. But man, these boots are hot.

I love the boot. However, the leather is very soft and and end up looking a little worn early on. If you wear a size 10 with a slightly larger calf...this is not the boot for you. Smaller sizes with wider calf should invest in a bigger boot size. All in all, lovely boot, lovely color, solid, sturdy soles. They just didn't work for me.

Great shoe! Super comfortable and great-looking -- lots of admiring comments. They do run about a half-size big, which makes them easy to slide on and off.

Poor quality. On the first wearing when I pulled the boot on the second time for the day, the loop in the back ripped into two pieces. Overall, the boot was comfortable and looked great, it just fell apart.Returned for refund.

I ordered these and they look great and were really comfortable, but the leather was thin and seemed of poor quality. It was already showing signs that it was going to crack right out of the box! I had serious concerns about durability (I'm ok spending this price on a pair of shoes that will last for years, but I didn't think these would make it), so I returned them. Sad, because it's a great looking shoe.

I ordered a size down as everyone on every site said to do so. I grabbed an 11 as a natural 12. I am happy with the length as I can see this is most likely where the 'larger than marked' reviews are coming from. I am also happy with the fit in the arch as the shoe is made to fit the bottom of the foot with a glove like arch support. If you don't need much cushioning and like a natural feel, this 'arch style' will fit you well. However, they are obviously narrow. Ordering a size down has caused me to get foot numbing at times during the day and I would have liked the size 12 width. I expect this to lessen as they stretch. The finish on the leather easily cleans up if you scuff the toe. Also, I have read on other 'Counterpane' reviews that the toe collapses. This is not close to happening on my shoe and I actually think the toe is quite sturdy.

It looked a little rough, almost medieval in quality as if it had been hand made in a rather crude fashion. I could see that working for other people, but it was not what I was looking for at this time. The Cole Haan equivalent had a more finely crafted feel I preferred.

I love these shoes. You should buy them. Beware, they come big, so order a full size smaller than you normally wear. I know that sounds crazy, but you will save yourself from having to exchange them.Speaking of, this was my first time ordering from Zappos and I couldn't be more impressed with their customer service. Friendly. Helpful. Knowledgable. The person I spoke to made me feel like a rock star, and I had the smaller size shoe on my door step the next day.Thanks Zappos!

The sizing is definitely one full size larger than your typical shoe at Foot Locker. I tried another timberland boot on at Macy's before I ordered. Great look and fit. I love these.

Great shoe. Well made and very high quality. They run just a little large on me... which works perfectly. An interesting thing I've noted is that the toe lifts up just slightly (kind of elf-like). You can see it in the pictures. Not a problem, just something that makes them special.

Overall a very well made shoe. Leather comes out of the box super soft and well broken in. Shoes appear to be worn so you don't have to spend 2 months getting rid if that new shoe look. Only gripe is they don't make them in half sizes.

I purchased these for my 19 year old daughter and she loves them! The leather quality and comfort of design make them a great boot. The sale pricing was a wonderful value for the product. That, combined with the outstanding Zappos support and shipping made the whole shopping experience a pleasure.

I love these boots! In general, I wear a 6 1/2 to 7 - they fit perfectly with great arch support - very comfortable to wear.

I get so many compliments when I wear this boot. I normally wear an 8.5, so the 9 fit great. I do have a bit of a narrow foot. The arch support is perfect. Fits snug around the calf. I normally find boots are too big around the calf but these fit nicely. Can't really tuck my jeans into them though so I wear with skirts and dresses.
