Friends from childhood, Mark Talucci and Todd Elliott both grew up overseas. Their love for finding and importing unique textiles was drawn from going to local hippie fairs in places like Brazil and Mexico, where Mark lived most of childhood. Both unenthused by their lackluster corporate jobs after college, Mark and Todd found inspiration during a trip to Bali, Indonesia in 1989 where they were intrigued by the extraordinary objects and artisan fabrics they discovered. Both natural entrepreneurs, Mark with a degree in engineering and Todd in business administration, they decided to start a business importing these "found treasures" from overseas to their hometown in San Francisco.
In 1994, the imported rattan bags were blowing off shelves at major retailers encouraging Mark and Todd to go a step further. The idea for The Sak brand stemmed from a simple, memorable, casual and relaxed bag with universal appeal. Staying true to texture, they created a singular bag from a unique Tightweave™ fabrication using hand-crocheted nylon string. Starting a crochet "craze," The Sak bag Style 120 was an overnight hit. It soon became one the most coveted items of the 90s coining the phrase "a Sak on every back."

I fell in love with the color and liked he reasonable price, too. The two outside pockets are great and the purse holds all that I need, but it's a bit narrow and hard to get into when searching for the elusive stuff that hides on the bottom. Also think the cloth strap cheapens a nice leather purse. What were they thinking?

This bag has all the right pockets and the color is lovely. That said, it seems fairly carelessly put together and made on the cheap. I haven't yet decided whether to keep it or not.

I really like this bag. Just the right size for me. Not too big, not too small. I thought the leather material seemed very luxurious and I love the adjustable strap because I am on the short side.

Such a great bag except for the tacky fabric strap. Would have ordered 3 if not for the strap.

I am a busy mom of six and a Zumba instructor. I carry an academic calendar and my purse needs to hold it. And I want nice enough to carry to church but spunky enough to go with funky Zumba clothes. the Iris Crossbody is perfect for all I need.

I love this bag! Roomier than I expected, with tons of little pockets. The color and quality of the leather is perfect. The yellow was just what I was needing for spring and summer. I would definitely buy more of these.
