Loved the bag when it arrived. The leather was soft, the bag strap was functional and the roomy size was great for on-the-go travel when you live in the big city. The major downside? While I was walking around in New York during a steamy hot day, I noticed that the red leather was rubbing on to my clothes! No joke. I was so saddened and disappointed because I thought SAK had made a quality leather product. So beware. Thank god for Zappos return policy.

Silver Lake bag -
Great bag! I'm really enjoying using it. It's got good room and compartments. Looks a bit like a saddle bag and has a strong leather smell but that dies down after a few days. If you like the smell you won't mind at all! Amazed at how well the shoulder strap stays on your shoulder!!

Loved it, but there was a defect!
I loved the look, the size, the everything about this purse. It is a perfect fit for cross body and for over the shoulder. I enjoyed this purse so much, but over time (a couple of weeks), the yellow saffron color leather was rubbing off, and turning green... very odd, and ugly. I contacted customer service over the matter, and was very pleased with how they handled the matter. So thumbs up to a great company.

Comfortable shoulder bag-great mahogany color (teak) a lot of room-great stitching, leather, hardware - storage of 2 outside pockets enough for keys or cellphone, hankie, lipsticks...great feature of zipper flap that extends all the way of bag height (good to secure items)- also braided loop goes into brass of outside pocket to semi-secure flap-good buy!

Amazing perfect bag!
I got this bag in the dark amber which is very much like a gorgeous tan color. It has plenty of pockets (3 interior, 2 exterior, and one hidden in the flap). It's also a perfect size for a NYC gal who needs a little extra room. I had at one time, a nalgene bottle, a professional blowdryer, a large wallet and a book. I feel the strap length is reallly quite nice to fit around a puffy winter coat and the leather on the strap has this stitching that acts as a grip on your shoulders that makes it not slip off. An all around excellent bag!

The Sak Silverlake Leather Flap in Teak -
I LOVE this bag and stalked it for weeks before buying it. Sadly I had to return it because the strap is just a really weird length. It has too long of a drop and looks really strange. Some of the pictures show it with a long strap but it does not come with one so I don't know why they are on there. Just measure for yourself and you will see that an 11 inch drop is just a bit too low. It's quite beautiful though, *sigh* :(

I would recommend this bag to anyone who wants a stylish, roomy, comfortable bag. I was hesitant to buy a bag that was not on sale but this is the best full price purchase I have ever made.

I am very happy with this bag. The leather is high quality and super soft. I bought the grey and it is a great weathered warm color that goes with everything. The bag is roomy but not so oversized as to be overwhelming. It fits comfortably on my shoulder and I have received many compliments, including from my teenage daughter. That counts for something!!!

I love this purse. The leather is very supple. It is a great sized purse (holds my large wallet, day planner, sunglasses, cell phone, miscellaneous stuff, and a small paperback). And, I have trouble with purse straps falling off of my shoulders, but this strap stays put. Worth the money.

LOVE this bag. I purchased the grey color and it looks amazing. I love big bags, but this bag is great because everything doesn't get lost. The flap closing is nice, too because you can access everything a lot quicker.

I love the style and organization of this handbag. The zip around flap goes all the way down to the bottom of the handbag. It is perfect for placing extra money, check book or items that need to be concealed. The handbag rests comfortably on my shoulder, too. The leather is soft-- this handbag has value, style and organization for the money. And another bonus is the fast delivery service provided by Zappos, thank you.

Great every day bag...
This bag is perfect. I was a little hesitant to purchase because it's very hard to judge leather online. The leather is butter soft with no surprises. I ordered the tan color (dark amber) and was worried about how dark of a brown it looks online, but it arrived a true tan color, a bit lighter than it probably appears on your monitor. (It should really show up in the site's color search for tan, but it doesn't! That's why I was worried it would be too brown in color! It's perfectly tan though.) All the pockets are awesome, especially the well structured interior pockets. The only thing I was surprised it doesn't have is a closure for the flap. I was expecting there to be some kind of magnetic closure, but upon wearing it I can see that it would be unnecessary. It shouldn't open on its own. I would definitely buy this bag again if the need should arise for a second color while it's available. It's very practical. I am going to buy a leather protectant for it, too, just to seal it from stains and damage.
