I love the style of this dress so I bought it in black. Unfortunately, the fabric color is closer to charcoal than the crisp, rich black in the photos. For this reason, I sent it back.

This dress is just what I wanted for summer. I got the black and it is a true black, not charcoal. It is cute and fun for a cover-up or for a picnic. It also could be used for a casual night out. I am 5' 10" and the length of the dress was perfect. Short enough so that I don't look frumpy, but long enough so that I can sit and not worry about it hiking the whole way up my thigh. Also, the straps are wide enough to wear with a regular bra - a definite plus on hot days when wearing a strapless bra can be sweaty and uncomfortable. I may get it in other colors. Now bring on the summer weather!

I got this in the brown pattern and I'm very pleased! It's lightweight with a very cute cut, I can't wait until it gets warm so I can wear it! I wish it were available in more colors/patterns! It seems like it will travel well.

While this dress looks cute in the photo, the material used to construct the dress is cheap quality and not what I have experienced in the past from The North Face label. Returning this garment for that reason alone.
