A bit stiff and not as easy to slip on as hoped. Also, the tie-down lace lever was "stuck" in place.

I got these for everyday wear and I was pleasantly surprised! They're super light weight and very breathable. Easy to adjust the fit. I wouldn't wear these any time during the winter (too breezy), but definitely for anything from running around town or a day at the park or lake or creek walk.

What the description doesn't mention, but what is written on the Northface box for this shoe is that it's ideal for colder temperatures. Pretty good for wearing on land without socks, just a little warmer than sandals.

I was disappointed with the feel and look once I tried them on at home. I like the breathable concept though.

Add This Brand to My Favorites
In 1966, two hiking enthusiasts founded a small mountaineering retail store in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. The company soon became known as The North Face, a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. (The name was selected because in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most formidable to climb.) In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and equipment, and in the early 1980s, extreme skiwear was added to the product offering. By the end of the decade, The North Face became the only supplier in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents.

Using all types of proprietary technology, TNF provides The North Face jackets, The North Face clothes, The North Face pants, The North Face bags and The North Face shoes with quality, durability, and above all else, functionality. Throughout the years, The North Face jacket and outerwear division has set the standard in the industry. With styles such as The North Face Denali jacket and vest, The North Face Apex Bionic jackets, and The North Face Nupste jackets, The North Face jackets proves time and time again that they are at the forefront of high-performance apparel.

Their dedication to footwear is no different. With the different categories of trail running, hiking, mountaineering, and most recently ultra running, The North Face shoes division continues to raise the bar for innovation and quality in their shoes. Using proven technology such as Gore-Tex® and Gore-Tex® XCR®, their insulated footwear can sustain use in low, sub-zero temperatures, and with the innovative Boa® technology, users can have a precise fit with the ability to adjust quickly and on the fly. All features that make The North Face shoes a leader in the technical footwear arena.

The North Face’s dedication to quality can also be seen in their gear and equipment. The North Face sleeping bags with a high fill of goose down for warmth and multiple lengths. The North Face daypacks and expedition packs such as the Recon and Jester that are rugged, durable, and can hold all you gear. The North Face tents that will withstand extreme temperatures on Everest and Mt. Rainier. If you have a desire to test the limits, The North Face equipment will help you on your adventure.

Okay...update on my review. I've been wearing these for about 2 or 3 months now. Compared to other shoes, the soles tend to wear pretty quickly. They're holding up quite well otherwise...just the traction nubs are almost all worn away. I wonder what condition the soles will be in by the end of the summer. Also, super easy to wash! After a day of gardening and standing in dirt, I just shook out the bulk of it, then rinsed the rest out in the shower.

I bought these for wading through the river, hiking through sand dunes, and playing in tide pools. They were fantastic. Very comfortable, and I felt secure when jumping to and from wet rocks. They seemed to take a while to dry out. When on the beach and sand built up in them, my feet did rub, and I got blisters. Otherwise they are great shoes for water wear. Plus they look more stylish and like regular athletic shoes than others on the market.

One of the pairs I received had a hard, painful lump of glue and fabric where the seam meets the inner ankle bone -- they're going back! Too bad, because these are otherwise pretty comfortable, lightweight, and nicely padded. But the lack of quality control is disappointing.

I love the look of the shoe and was so excited when it arrived. Unfortunately, I'm a size 6.5 and the 7 was way too big. I typically can get away with wearing a size 7 because my foot is wide, but not this time. I was sad to have to return them because there wasn't a 6 available to swap them out with.

I bought these for a trip to Hawaii with damp conditions and some trail hiking in mind. They worked well to keep out sand and rocks, and drained and dried easily. They are a bit snug around the ankle, so I had to pack a shoehorn to ensure being able to get them on. It feels like they pronate inward a bit. Great for my trip.

I brought this to a trip to China.I needed something light and comfortable, both to carry in my luggage and to walk a whole day. They are amazing. One of the most comfortable walking shoes I have had. The holes in the sides keep the feet from heating up. The lightness makes it feel as if you had no shoe. The material from which is made dries super quickly. I love them.
