This coat confused me. I ended up buying the Miss Metro, the shorter version, (despite the ridiculous name... I will call it "Ms. Metro" which isn't much better.) Anyway, I had really wanted a long coat to keep the lower part of my legs warm but I will have to make due with leg warmers over my knees:) This Triple C is much thinner and lighter than the Ms. Metro, though it is supposed to be warmer? It feels great on, but it lacks certain things, such as a placket that snaps over the zipper. I wasn't confident that the material would repel wind the way the Ms. Metro does. Also the zipper seemed flimsy and got stuck the very first time I zipped it up. That did it for me, since I figured that would drive me crazy, first having to stoop down to zip, then having to be super careful to not get it stuck or have it break. Since I need the warmth most when walking my dog in Upstate New York winters, the length might have been in the way, but I really wanted it even though I knew I would look like a walking sleeping bag. But I ultimately felt the Ms. Metro was sturdier and warmer. Recap: PROs: The Triple C is nice looking, fits pretty much true to size, maybe a wee bit big (I sometimes wear an XS at 5'2" 110 lbs, but was good with the S I ordered size-wise, it could fit a nice layer underneath. Even a suit jacket if need be. The zipper zips up from the bottom, i.e. if it is zipped all the way up you can give yourself some leg room by zipping the bottom up a foot or two. Good for driving for example, more mobility when needed. CONS: Really thin and light, not sure how it could be warmer at supposedly 700-fill down vs. the 600-fill down Ms. Metro; no extra pockets (at $340 why not all the teeny bells and whistles?) no placket over the zipper, zipper tends to stick, not sure it would be wind-resistant.

First of all, this is the best site I have and will continue to order from. Got all my Christmas presents in time and the returns were fast. This is an elegant coat but I was very disappointed when I wore it in cold weather in the teens. I live in New York and it gets very cold here. I felt cold and find I have to wear an extra layer. Where are the feathers? I have a Wilson's coat that I have for over ten years and wear it instead for the warmth. Nice coat but for the money I paid, not worth it.

I'd also recommend: I do love Northface brands and coach

This North Face jacket is incredibly disappointing. Do the people who design these jackets ever put them on and try wearing them? The zipper is so poorly designed - it is LONG and it gets caught every 6 inches or so in the fabric alongside the zipper. So it makes zipping this jacket up a REAL CHORE. And the zipper is the only way you can close the jacket up! There are no snaps so there is no way to quickly close the jacket if I don't have the time to zip it up (another jacket I had in the past provided both snaps and zipper). Also, it is very thin when it comes to the down insulation. It is warm, but not really warm. The only reason I kept this jacket is that I live in New England and am desperate for a warm jacket due to the polar vortex. The only positives: style and color.

I am only speaking about the North Face, not Zappos. This jacket is such a disappointment. I had the previous version, which was great style, but had patches of no down in them, so the jacket could not possibly be graded as 700. I exchanged it hoping that was just one, but the other arrived with the same problem. As I liked the style a lot, I kept it, but after a year of using it, my zipper got jammed. I called North Face in December of 2013 to ask about a possible repair of the zipper, they told me it will take 5-6 weeks. Another disappointment from North Face. I unfortunately don't have many winter jackets to afford 6 weeks without it. So, I ended up returning the jacket and buying this new version. Not only they went cheap with material, again patches of no down at all, no zipper flap, no fleece lined pockets and finally no zipper that starts at a reachable point, not the one that goes all the way down, where you have to bend to zip with no leg space as the previous one. North Face, what is going on? You are ruining your reputation!
