Great for any occasion, but zipper pull broke 1st day - Gift for brother's b-day. When opening bag to show how much could fit inside, the zipper pull broke off. Not big enough deal to send bag back, but disappointing.

Overall it is a nice bag - The only thing wrong with it was the zipper. The first thing I did was tug on it, and the zipper fell off... Other than that, everything else works. I was just disappointed that my bag didn't come in perfect condition. I really liked the fact that I received my package within 2 days (with free shipping).

Bought this for my 7th grader. He loves it! Lots of room for books and a smaller zippered pocket in the front for his smaller things like keys (and actual clip for them), pencils, MP3 player, phone, etc. Side pocket for his water bottle. And this bag looks good. Sturdy & well made.

I researched a lot of backpacks before deciding on the North Face Slingshot and I couldn't be happier with my choice. It is roomy and durable and the padded straps are wonderful for comfort. I am a nursing student and my books are HEAVY. This pack is holding up wonderfully. I am equally impressed with Zappos for their timely shipping and overall amazing customer service. They have found a very happy and loyal customer in me!

This is a great backpack. I was afraid before I got it that it wasn\'t big enough or that it wouldn\'t be waterproof, since many of the cheaper NF bags seem not to be, but it is. It has many compartments, and the back and straps are very comfortable. It\'s a very sporty bag, good for carrying anything that\'s a little heavier than your usual load, but I wouldn\'t suggest putting more than one college text in it.\r\nOverall, a pretty good bag. I would buy it again if mine got worn out.

I love this bag for my son. Since schools have not reopened, he has not used it yet but it looks classy. Has a lot of space. Just keep in mind the blue in the picture is really bright whereas in reality it is quite dark almost blackish.

Nice backpack, great quality. Have used it a couple times now, but it will get daily use once school starts. Like the bottle pockets on sides. I wish some of the small pockets in the front flap had a zipper close. Consumer reports top reviewed backpack.

Great backpack! Fits well. Honestly perfect size. I have enough room for my huge medical textbooks plus my laptop and I don't look like I'm carrying a massive bag. Love the compartments on the inside. Quite comfortable. Great value for the price.

I like the functionality and look of this bag. It has ample space for all of my gym clothes and an extra pair of shoes as well as a large, tall front pocket that I use for my phone, wallet, keys and any toiletries. My one criticism would be the amount of straps and drawstrings this bag has. I realize that it was constructed for rugged outdoor use, but there are at least a couple pieces that I feel are extraneous. All in all though, I'm very happy with this backpack. Looks good and feels solid.

North Face quality always reliable. My daughter is 5 5; this back pack is the right size. I was concerned it might be too small. Very happy with purchase.

I am a full-time nursing student and looking for that backpack that will suit my needs. After reading the post below from another nursing student, I decide to give TNF Slingshot a try. I love it. It's a keeper! I also love the brown/purple color. Very feminine but not too sickly girly. Zappos I love you!

This backpack is a super big departure from my Jansport Superbreak that I've had since I was 16. Now at 21 almost 22, my Jansport was starting to rip at the bottom. :( I was on the hunt for a backpack that was not only stylish for me, but also durable seeing as I need something that will last me for a long time. My main priority was durability, the fact that I need something to carry my textbooks to and from school without the pain that I was starting to get on my back from the lack of structure on the Jansport. Also I wanted to make sure that I was making the right decision in spending more than my budget on a backpack seeing as I've had one backpack ever that was less, that being my Jansport. This backpack being longer, and also wider, gives me a better stance when walking and standing because I have that support that was lacking before. The small compartments in the first pocket are great to fit my, hand lotion, pens/pencils, mase, small calendar, gum, keys and other whatnots. BTW the small front pocket is huge for it being a small pocket! Still lots of space in there to fit a small notebook or flats for you girls who need to do double duty with this bag. The big pocket, whoa! I can fit my 13 inch macbook pro in the pocket, my three super heavy textbooks, a mead notebook, binder and other whatnots like folders from class. Even though my backpack looks heavy with all of that inside, the straps are what save this backpack from getting two thumbs down. The back support itself helps too! If you're a busy college student and have lots to maintain and carry, this backpack is a must!
