The last week in Chicago has been the true test of these new boots I had just ordered. I ordered 3 other types of boots (Sorrel and Baffin), but these fit the best and seemed most formidable for severe weather. These kept my feet warm in sub-zero temperatures. They kept my feet dry in 12 inch snow and 4-6 inch puddles after the snow melted. I walked through snow and water that was much higher than the rubber part at the bottom (water was over the laces) and they remained waterproof. These boots really withstood the harsh elements are comfortable as well.

Very uncomfortable and "baggy" around ankle area, excess material just sags and clumps up against ankle when standing idle. Compare these to Sorel and you will see how much extra material is around the ankle. If you have smallish or average ankles, avoid! And do not go up in size for winter socks.

Let me just say this may be the most comfortable boot I've ever tried on! I LOVE the footbed - as someone else said, this truly feels like a comfy sneaker. Unfortunately, because I have a wide foot, I had to order up one size and this meant that the upper part of the boot was way too large as it was designed for thicker ankle and there were literally folds of fabric pushing into my ankle. This does not hurt, but it looks floppy and I know it will get on my nerves over time. So unfortunately I have to part with this lovely boot. If they can design it with a narrower ankle & calf I'll buy it for even double the price!

I'd also recommend: Merrell, Coach, Sorel

I am disappointed. These boots are very cute, they seem warm and they fit well in the calf. But they bunch around the ankle in a way that creates a bend in the back of the boot, which rubs against my ankle and makes it uncomfortable to walk. Even through very thick socks they gave me a blister the first time I wore them. I am scared to go for a second time and hope they get "broken in". They also feel so flat its almost like the front of the boot footbed is higher than the heel. I have trouble walking in them for this reason. I had originally ordered a size nine even though I usually wear an 8 because I thought that I read they run large. Those were way too large and the bunching in the ankle was worse. I returned it for an 8.5 but felt bad returning that for an 8. I wish I had returned it as I dont think these boots will be serving their purpose this winter. Its snowing today and I chose to wear other, "regular" dress boots with thick socks.

EXCELLENT SNOW & WINTER BOOT! Purchased for our daughter, a college student in northern Colorado. She loves these for the cold, ice, & snow.

I have read good and bad things about these boots, but I decided to test them out anyway so I'd know for myself. I didn't even get a chance to wear these in snow because it's been weirdly snow-less in Chicago so far. I did test them out in our mini polar vortex we had a few weeks ago. I walk a little over half a mile to my bus stop from my job. The day I tested them out, it was 20 degrees outside (which is nothing for Chicago). By the time I was on the bus, my toes were cold. I was only outside for about 20 minutes! In regards to how they looked, the boots were exactly what I was looking for. As for construction, they didn't feel sturdy. They bent at the ankles easily and I had a feeling that when the season was over, that area would be permanently bent. I also felt that in a few years, they could possibly fall apart. The arch support was okay, but I would have probably added an insole for support. Lastly, as for sizing, I did get my size (7) and they fit perfectly. I also have narrow feet, but the boots weren't too wide. I was also able to wear them comfortably with thick socks, but it was a little snug although not uncomfortably. Bottom line, if those boots couldn't keep my feet warm in 20 degree weather, they definitely weren't worth keeping.

Very nice boot, fits very well. They feel like they bunch at ankles a little bit but they don't look like it does but are very comfortable to wear all day at the hockey rink! And they look good too!
