This is a great shoe, but a bit stiff. Not great for long hikes - my feet felt sore and tired. Stick with the hedgehogs as they are fantastic

These are the most comfortable hiking/work shoes I have purchased in the last few years. They are true to size. At first they were a little stiff but after a few hours of wearing them they felt just fine. So good that I bought a second pair. I'm using my own orthotics for better arch support.

My wife bought a version of this light hiking shoe a few years ago and loves it. On our most recent hike in VT, they were perfect on wet muddy trails covered with fall foliage. I was looking for a pair, got other brands, but returned until I copied her and was so happy with these. Wear them every day, as I got Gore-Tex - which is great for winter and will wear them on our first spring hike once the snow melts. Great buy! Colors are great, fit comfortably, light in weight, good threads on bottom, so no slipping. Highly recommend!
Brands I'd also recommend: Nike, Adidas, Nike 6.0, Merrels

Very comfortable shoe that fits & feels great! Love the tread for outstanding traction while hiking & waterproof properties in keeping my feet dry while crossing streams or under inclement weather such as rain. The laces aren't ridiculously long either. I can truly tell the difference in quality with these compared to retail store shoes. I'm buying all my shoes at Zappos!

Zappos is the No. 1 in Service! Best of the best! About the shoe, it was little hard initially, so I tried to loosen it up in the treadmill before I did for daily outside use. It's really comfortable for walks. I love this shoe!

Best shoe on the market for trail running or just walking around town. Stylish and waterproof. This is my second pair of these shoes and I hope they never discontinue them.

The problem with these shoes is that the bottom layer of the sole started to peel away after a few months. I got them repaired but suspect it will happen again. Shame, because otherwise they're great.

First off: Zappos.com is excellent! My first pair of these shoes had a defect in the Gore-Tex on the toe area and dug into the side of my foot. My second pair (thank you Zappos.com for your excellent service) were great...until they started to fall apart after less than one month of ownership. I didn't wear them every day, and when I did, it wasn't more than a few hours a day. On both shoes the rubber toe was separating from the shoe. I might have try these shoes again if the rubber was separating from just one shoe, but both...Sorry, I am done with the Ultra 105 GTX XCR '10.

My husband only wore these shoes to and from work for about three months and the tread started peeling from the base and the laces frayed. He really liked the look and comfort so we are giving them another shot, but there appears to be a quality control issue with the tread since a few reviewers had the same issue. Luckily Zappos is very good about returns.

Left shoe developed an annoying squeak after a week - every single step is loud. Save your box. You will be returning these.

I love the shoes with the exception that I would like if they could be tied tighter. If your foot is meatier than mine it would be no problem. They are so comfortable that you can barely feel them.

Very comfortable. But I'm annoyed. After wearing them for a week on a hiking trip, the left shoe developed an annoying squeak every time you step. Carpet or hard floor, it squeaks. Not sure why, maybe it's a fluke.

This is my third pair of Ultra 105s. The shoe provides excellent support and traction. That said, I was very disappointed the first time I wore this pair in the rain--my entire foot was soaking wet. And I'm not talking about a deluge of biblical proportions here--just a little rain in the city. I had a similar experience the second time I wore the pair in the rain. I thought the inner lining is supposed to be waterproof?

Comfortable for walking or running on trails, upper is very durable but outsole isn't as durable as I had hoped. It started to wear fairly fast and after a month the spot that I normally wear on shoes (outside forefoot) is just about flat while the rest of the tread looks untouched. The laces are pretty easy to secure and don't come loose too often. I would probably get them again though, unless I find another trail shoe that blows my mind.
