I purchased these shoes because they do not have laces and they looked great. I, however, found that they are particularly tight around the ankle and do not break in at the tongue area very well. I had to send them back due to the fact that the top of the tongue would dig into my tendons and were causing my discomfort. I thought that they would break in and be fine, but I was wrong.

I was a bit hesitant about buying a North Face product, but the sleek design and look of this shoe compelled me to go ahead and order it. It looks better in reality and fits comfortably as well.

I have tried a lot of boots in my line of work. I farm grapes and am also a winemaker. I am in the dirt in the vineyard and in the water in the winery. These at the best duel use work shoes I have found in my ten years in this business.

I should have ordered one size larger because the shoes are very tight, (I do have a wide foot, and North Face does not have a wide option). The second day putting them on I was using the heel loop to help get them on and it broke. I am disappointed with my overall experience but must say that if I had ordered a larger size I might be happy.

Great Everyday Winter Shoe! This is the third pair of shoes I've purchased from Zappos, and as usual, am very pleased. The Snowkat runs pretty true to size...a little snug at first, but that's not really a bad thing when it's extremely cold outside! The way they grip the snow and ice is unbelievable. They're not to be worn in deep snow obviously, but for every other winter day they're awesome...I'm wearing them right now! I tell everyone about Zappos and their great service and quality!

Additional Brand Information

In 1966, two hiking enthusiasts founded a small mountaineering retail store in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. The company soon became known as The North Face, a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. (The name was selected because in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most formidable to climb.) In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and equipment, and in the early 1980s, extreme skiwear was added to the product offering. By the end of the decade, The North Face became the only supplier in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents.

Using all types of proprietary technology, TNF provides The North Face jackets, The North Face clothes, The North Face pants, The North Face bags and The North Face shoes with quality, durability, and above all else, functionality. Throughout the years, The North Face jacket and outerwear division has set the standard in the industry. With styles such as The North Face Denali jacket and vest, The North Face Apex Bionic jackets, and The North Face Nupste jackets, The North Face jackets proves time and time again that they are at the forefront of high-performance apparel.

Their dedication to footwear is no different. With the different categories of trail running, hiking, mountaineering, and most recently ultra running, The North Face shoes division continues to raise the bar for innovation and quality in their shoes. Using proven technology such as Gore-Tex® and Gore-Tex® XCR®, their insulated footwear can sustain use in low, sub-zero temperatures, and with the innovative Boa® technology, users can have a precise fit with the ability to adjust quickly and on the fly. All features that make The North Face shoes a leader in the technical footwear arena.

The North Face’s dedication to quality can also be seen in their gear and equipment. The North Face sleeping bags with a high fill of goose down for warmth and multiple lengths. The North Face daypacks and expedition packs such as the Recon and Jester that are rugged, durable, and can hold all you gear. The North Face tents that will withstand extreme temperatures on Everest and Mt. Rainier. If you have a desire to test the limits, The North Face equipment will help you on your adventure.

Snowkat Clog II - Very nice shoe, outstanding quality and look. I did have to buy a larger than normal size for my husband because he does have a high instep. He has to use a shoe horn but he is very happy with the shoe and they are truly waterproof.

Excellent, versatile shoe - I bought a pair of these to replace another pair of TNF clogs that I'd worn to a smooth sole. I could not be happier. They fit like a glove, are warm, have excellent traction, and have a clean, smart look. The fit is excellent, with no break-in time required. Though I haven't yet, I would have no compunction about wearing these for light hiking right away. Despite having them for only a few days, I have gone on three-mile city walks in them with no issue at all. You do have to get used to getting your foot in through an opening like this. Unlike some other clogs (like many Merrells), there are no elasticized slits to allow the opening to expand. (The absence of these slits makes them exceptionally weatherproof.) I end up crunching down the heel a little in order to get my foot in. That said, my old pair of TNF clogs was constructed the same say, and I crunched those heels down without ever having them fail. I suspect TNF designs the heel specifically to account for the fact that most people will crush it a little when putting the shoes on. I love the insulation of these shoes. Even in relatively cold temperatures, I put them on without socks to go walk the dog or run to the grocery store. My feet stay warm. Last word: I ordered these on Jan. 1 (a holiday), and they arrived on Jan. 2. I was flabbergasted (and happy, since I was leaving for a weekend in the country that evening).

Needed a good winter shoe, and the Snowkat Clog II is great!...found the top of the shoe fits a little more narrow than marked, but very roomy around the toes, and comfortable for all day wear. I find the warmth factor good to about 30 degrees with only a thermal sock, and so far my feet have been staying dry in the rain. Over all they are a great winter shoe, they look and feel great. Not too crazy about the cheesy logo thing on the front, but with jeans that gets covered.

Clog blog - The shoe is great. The only problem is the pull loop on the back of one of the shoes ripped loose while trying to pull them on. You should supply a shoe horn with these clogs. THANK YOU

Fits right. But cants my ankles inward - I really wanted to like this shoe. It fit my narrow size 10 feet like a glove and had a nice athletic shoe feel to it (very flexible soles). However, the angle formed by the sole and insert tipped my ankles inward (pronation) and I found that to be unsettling. I even tried replacing their stock insoles with my Superfeet insoles, but that didn't fix the problem. Ended up returning these.

Just like my old Merrells - Its a fine shoe that and is everything described. They are especially good in colder weather. The fit is fine and I am sure I will get many months of use out of them.
