I purchased these pants for my husband to wear on a trip to Egypt. We just got back, and these pants were a winner. They were comfortable and he loved all the pockets. He had a little trouble unzipping them, but no big deal. One thing, he was not crazy about was the belt, will proably eventually take it out. Why the internal belt and belt loops? Not sure, but he did really like the pants. Only gave 4 stars for style because of the belt.

Although I'm a bigger fan of the THF products of long, long ago before they were so fashionable, I have to say I love these pants and have three pair. I spend between 40-60 nights a year on the trails and the water in a tent, not including dayhikes and the like. These pants are comfortable, functional and the convertable zippers have never given me a problem. The seams are all good and they wash up incredibly well. I'm very impressed with this garment.

Add This Brand to My Favorites
In 1966, two hiking enthusiasts founded a small mountaineering retail store in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. The company soon became known as The North Face, a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. (The name was selected because in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most formidable to climb.) In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and equipment, and in the early 1980s, extreme skiwear was added to the product offering. By the end of the decade, The North Face became the only supplier in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents.

Using all types of proprietary technology, TNF provides The North Face jackets, The North Face clothes, The North Face pants, The North Face bags and The North Face shoes with quality, durability, and above all else, functionality. Throughout the years, The North Face jacket and outerwear division has set the standard in the industry. With styles such as The North Face Denali jacket and vest, The North Face Apex Bionic jackets, and The North Face Nupste jackets, The North Face jackets proves time and time again that they are at the forefront of high-performance apparel.

Their dedication to footwear is no different. With the different categories of trail running, hiking, mountaineering, and most recently ultra running, The North Face shoes division continues to raise the bar for innovation and quality in their shoes. Using proven technology such as Gore-Tex® and Gore-Tex® XCR®, their insulated footwear can sustain use in low, sub-zero temperatures, and with the innovative Boa® technology, users can have a precise fit with the ability to adjust quickly and on the fly. All features that make The North Face shoes a leader in the technical footwear arena.

The North Face’s dedication to quality can also be seen in their gear and equipment. The North Face sleeping bags with a high fill of goose down for warmth and multiple lengths. The North Face daypacks and expedition packs such as the Recon and Jester that are rugged, durable, and can hold all you gear. The North Face tents that will withstand extreme temperatures on Everest and Mt. Rainier. If you have a desire to test the limits, The North Face equipment will help you on your adventure.

My husband absolutely loves these pants. He likes being able to remove the pant legs when the weather warms up during the day, without having to carry a separate pair of shorts and changing into them. He has gotten several more pairs after trying the first one, in different colors. The zipper does eventually stop working, and then he just uses them as shorts.

We have been looking for this type of pants for my husband for a long time. My husband is ecstatic with the comfort and sporty good looks which are way better than the warmup pants he has been using for that purpose. I bought another pair and intend to buy an additional one. He sure looks great in them. Another great plus for me is the easy care.

I love these pants! This is my 7th pair of Paramount Peak Convertibles. Here's what I love about them: 1. They are comfortable, loose enough to climb or mountain bike in. 2. The length of the shorts works well for days when I'm wearing a climbing harness. 3. The boot zippers on the legs allow me to keep my shoes on when I switch to shorts. 4. Cargo pockets hold plenty. And more. Great pants and I'll probably buy another pair when these wear out!

Very comfortable and roomy. Nice that the pant bottoms have the extra zipper to get them off over your boots / sneakers. Most of all the short version makes for a much better fit length wise. I'm 5'8 and they're just right.

Excellent britches, high quality material and workmanship and now own 3 pair. Only thing I wear when it's hot and need long pants. Bottom leg zips off and back in easily. Good value.

I'm really enjoying wearing my North Face pants. They are a comfortable weight, the pockets are nice and deep, I like the zippable pocket on the right side, I like having the cargo pockets on the legs, the convenience of being able to zip off the lower legs is great. I was afraid the zip around the leg might be annoying, but it has turned out to not be an issue. I have used the shorts for riding my recumbent bicycle and have been pleased at how little they "balloon" in the wind. The only two things I would change if I could are 1) the way they pull across the front (probably because my body is not quite the right shape) and 2) make the integrated belt removable. It's nice having an integrated belt so I don't have to remember another one, but sometimes I'd like to wear another one with these pants and that's not really an option since I can't get the integrated belt out of the way without cutting it. Overall, I really like these pants a lot. I expect to be buying more.

I normally have a problem with how pants fit me since I have big "sprinters quads". These pants fit great! Overall, a better fit, design and color than their predecessor. Can be dressed down as shorts and up as pants, perfect for travelers who pack light. As always, great customer service from Zappos!
