Bought this for my 6 year old son. He's 57 pounds, 51 inches tall. His measurements fit the size small perfectly. However, if he had a growth spurt, the small could be too small quickly. The medium is big, but not too big. Zappos was super fast! This is his second North Face Denali jacket. I try to get so he can wear for 2 seasons. It has kept him plenty warm while playing outside and in the snow and isn't so bulky that he can move comfortably.

My favorite coat for my kiddos because it's warm and cute and they love it because it's comfy! We've had one of these from toddler on and will continue to have one for eternity! Good thing there's a little brother to pass them on to as they are more expensive than others of similar style. My very tall 12 year old wears size 14/16.
