I just got my borealis in the mail and I'm very pleased with the size and padding as well as the many compartments. However, I ordered the yellow and I'm very disappointmented in the color. Its more of an ugly gold than the bright yellow that's advertised in the picture. However, yellow is my favorite color and so I will probably keep it rather than exchange it for another color.

I love this pack so much! Travel, hiking, road trips, everyday, you name it, this bag can handle it. I don't have to worry one bit about stashing my DSLR camera, knitting project (yes, knitting), lunch, extra clothes, etc. Everything always fits so perfectly and snugly, nothing gets crushed, nothing gets damp (haven't been in huge storms, but it's definitely been in some rain showers) and it doesn't put any unnecessary strain on my back or shoulders. It's the perfect little daypack and I love it so much!

Had a previous North Face backpack that lasted me 8+ years, decided on a similar style. So far so good, the gel straps are a nice plus for comfort, and the side bottle pockets come in handy too. Here's to another 8 years!

This is for my son when he goes to college in the fall. He has a North face that he uses now for the last 4 years and is still going strong but nice to have a new one and one to specially fit a laptop. This is a perfect size not too big or small, has cushion and space for a laptop. He hasn't used it yet but from experience with North Face, it will be great.

I love the way it looks and feels, and it's perfect for carrying three thick books and a lab coat for my bio. class. However, you might not want this backpack if you have alot to carry, including lap top.
