Perfect winter boots! I love these! I go to college in Michigan, and these are perfect for walking around on slushy, snowy days. They are very waterproof; I can walk straight through sidewalk puddles and my feet stay warm. My favorite thing is that they are very lightweight. They keep you warm outside, but once you're inside, it doesn't feel like you're stomping around in huge heavy boots. Only thing: the opening is pretty loose around my ankle/calf, and rubbed against my leg. But once I bought some taller socks, it was fine.

Warm boots - I love the way this boot looks the ivory kaki goes with a lot of different colors. I bought the size 6 I usually wear a 5.5-6 and I ordered a 6 and it's still pinchy or narrow in the toes and a little bit loose around the ankle. I am going to get size 7 and give these to my sister. I know she'll love them if they fit.

Heal Slips - I love these boots as far as looks, and comfort goes but they slip too much in the heels. I did read a couple reviews that said the same thing but I just thought I'd try them on for size anyway. Oh well, I'm going to try a different boot; the return process is SOO EASY!! I'll be coming back here to buy again!!

Amazingly, both too loose AND too tight - I've been looking for a semi-cute warm waterproof boot to get me through the rainy season in Northern California. These are cute, but when they arrived I discovered that somehow they were simultaneously tight/pinchy in the toes AND loose/slippy in the heels. I usually wear a size 9, sometimes an 8 1/2. I got these in the 9 and my heels rubbed up and down in a perfect recipe for blisters. If I'd gone down a half size it might have fixed that, except that the toe area was already painfully tight. If you have narrow heels and regular or wide toes, these might be a tough fit for you. They were cute enough that I wanted to keep them, but they just didn't work.

Great Boot! Great boot!! Bought them for a ski trip, Very light, warm & comfortable. Feels as comfortable as wearing a sneaker. The top of the boot is a bit wide in the front, but maybe that's just because I have skinnier calves than normal. Overall great boot!!

Additional Brand Information

In 1966, two hiking enthusiasts founded a small mountaineering retail store in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. The company soon became known as The North Face, a retailer of high-performance climbing and backpacking equipment. (The name was selected because in the Northern Hemisphere, the north face of a mountain is generally the coldest, iciest and most formidable to climb.) In 1968, The North Face began designing and manufacturing its own brand of high-performance mountaineering apparel and equipment, and in the early 1980s, extreme skiwear was added to the product offering. By the end of the decade, The North Face became the only supplier in the United States to offer a comprehensive collection of high-performance outerwear, skiwear, sleeping bags, packs and tents.

Using all types of proprietary technology, TNF provides The North Face jackets, The North Face clothes, The North Face pants, The North Face bags and The North Face shoes with quality, durability, and above all else, functionality. Throughout the years, The North Face jacket and outerwear division has set the standard in the industry. With styles such as The North Face Denali jacket and vest, The North Face Apex Bionic jackets, and The North Face Nupste jackets, The North Face jackets proves time and time again that they are at the forefront of high-performance apparel.

Their dedication to footwear is no different. With the different categories of trail running, hiking, mountaineering, and most recently ultra running, The North Face shoes division continues to raise the bar for innovation and quality in their shoes. Using proven technology such as Gore-Tex® and Gore-Tex® XCR®, their insulated footwear can sustain use in low, sub-zero temperatures, and with the innovative Boa® technology, users can have a precise fit with the ability to adjust quickly and on the fly. All features that make The North Face shoes a leader in the technical footwear arena.

The North Face’s dedication to quality can also be seen in their gear and equipment. The North Face sleeping bags with a high fill of goose down for warmth and multiple lengths. The North Face daypacks and expedition packs such as the Recon and Jester that are rugged, durable, and can hold all you gear. The North Face tents that will withstand extreme temperatures on Everest and Mt. Rainier. If you have a desire to test the limits, The North Face equipment will help you on your adventure.

The boot I've been looking for! This is the boot I've been looking for! They are very easy to get on and off. After a couple of hours in wet, slushy ice and snow, my feet were warm, dry, and comfortable. I love the look, too! They arrived the day after I ordered them. I love Zappos!

North Faces Bella Alta - I couldn't even get the boot on and I ordered 1 size larger than I normally wear. My arch may be high but my foot wouldn't even go in the boot. I didn't like the rear zip design. I think if it had been in the front it would have enabled me to get it on.

Very Comfortable, Warm Boots! After 3 1/2 feet of snow, I decided it was time to get a pair of snow boots and these have not disappointed. They are very warm and toasty, easy to slip on, the rear zip is great. Even though they don't look particularly waterproof, after breaking through ice to a 5" deep puddle, the boots just shook off the water and I stayed warm and dry! They may run a touch large, I'm between an 8.5 and a 9 and ordered the 9 and they are very roomy without heavy socks, but that is fine with me. They are like big cozy slippers with great traction!

Great boot! After trying several other brands, I was very pleased with the fit of this boot. I don't find the ankle to be too stiff as other reviews have said. These boots are very comfortable, I hate taking them off when I get to work in the mornings. I almost look forward to the snow now. They have great traction and stand up to the Denver snow. These boots are attractive, too. I've gotten many compliments on them.

Cute, warm, and great fit - So glad I ordered these boots! I was initially put off by the price, but they are sooo worth it. By far the warmest boots I've had in years (or maybe ever). Very comfy, decent arch support, lightweight, perfect fit. First day they felt a bit too snug on the calf, but fine now. I may try with orthotics at some point, but for now the built in arch support is enough for my commute. With the brutal cold we've had, these boots have been a godsend!

Great shoe for NYC slush. I haven't given these boots a real test on some snowy mountain top, but for a typical NYC winter, they've been great. I have not experienced any problems with the top being too stiff or my sock slipping down. They feel true to size and look good. The only slight problem is the zipper is a little hard to move up and down.

Super Warm - After reading some other reviews, I ordered these boots a bit larger than I needed. I sure wish I hadn't, but they came on a day when we had 7 inches of snow and still falling. So... I wore them out and about. I must say they are super warm, comfy, good looking, love the color (I got the gold), and the soles grip really well.

Sturdy Winter Boot - Well, the boot certainly stands up to the North Face name. It's sturdy, durable, and very warm. We have had a blast of arctic air in Chicago over the past few weeks, and the boot has kept me warm and dry. Very strong ankle support, too. I can run in the boot when I make a mad dash for the train, and I do not need to worry about slipping. Definitely warrants warm winter socks to prevent chafing against the calf.

Finally! I have been shipping boots back and forth to Zappos trying to find the perfect pair. I tried Campers, Uggs, and others that cost more but just weren't right, and finally found this boot, which I am keeping (our delivery man is relieved). What I like about it is that it slips on and off easily, is well insulated and waterproof (in this climate, boots can't just look good, they need to trudge through sludge for four months and STILL look good) and they feel like slippers. I am very pleased.

Cute and functional - Bought the ivory pair, knowing that they would show some dirt on them, but still am very happy with the color (matches my NF jacket perfectly). Great for walking around in slush on campus, and resists water much better than my Uggs. Shaft of boot is a little wide, but as long as I have longer socks on it doesn't bother me.

Cute stylish snowboots - I've read some reviews where people said they had to order these larger than their normal size; I actually ended up with half a size smaller, after ordering my true size first. But Zappos was great with the returns and I had the right pair quickly. The top of the boots are a bit stiff, but a tall sock is all that you need to keep the rubbing to a minimum. Great shoes!

Cute boot; bad fit. A very cute boot, just didn't fit me well. The length & width feel true to size, but the heel is too roomy and the shaft of the boot is very, very roomy. My heel kept slipping up & down as I walked, and it caused my socks to get pulled down into the boot. Very annoying. It's too bad, though, because they're cute, and wonderfully lightweight. Makes me sad to return them.

A good winter boot. The moonlight ivory color looks great but stains easily (dirt, jeans, etc.) Probably best to spray with Scotch guard before wearing or choose a darker color.

Stylish and comfortable boots - I ordered a pair of these boots (Brown) for my daughter in Dec. 2006. As a result of how much she loved them and highly recommended them, I purchased a black pair and ivory pair for my other two daughters (in their 20s) in Dec. 2007. They are thrilled with these boots and comment on how comfortable, warm, and stylish they are.

Great! These boots are super warm and have a great grip on the bottom! I went to Montana for a week and am so glad I purchased these. I ordered a half size larger than normal and the fit was perfect. These boots have a great look and are very functional!
