This bag truly is Extra Large. As with all North Face, this bag is made to withstand the test of time and the elements. If you need a good duffel to cram as much junk as you want into, this is your bag. The only issue with the bag, is it's so big, the more you put in, the heavier it gets, and it's quite difficult to lug around with all that stuff. I still give it 5 stars, because this is something you must expect with a bag this big, and the shoulder straps really are good - if the bag is filled all the way. Otherwise, if you don't have to carry your junk (gear, clothes, anything fits in this bag) too far, it's exactly what you're looking for.

Looking for a bombproof bag that holds all your gear, look no further. I have used mine to transport my hunting gear across country, as well as pack all my and my 2 years stuff for a 3 week visit in Hawaii. Its tough, waterproof, and can take a beating. I usually ask the airline to put it in a plastic bag to make sure all the straps don't get stuck on something. One con is that with such a big bag, it can get pretty heavy, the shoulder straps are OK, but I wouldn't want to do to much shlepping around with it totally packed. Not necessarily this bags problem, and at least they have made an attempt at decent shoulder straps. Mesh pocket inside is perfect for the small things you don't want to lose inside like keys, power cords. I have not owned other brands of similar bags so I cant compare, but highly recommended.
