Latest Swimsuit Reviews
Posted: Dec 3, 2009Reviewer: Lindsay C from San Francisco BayThese mosaic print suits are real beauties, but be warned that they seem to run almost a full size smaller than the other Nike high neck suits. We wear these suits to swim in San Francisco Bay with the Dolphin Club in the winter, and they are just great. Can't recommend them highly enough. You will, though, have to put some kind of extended pull on the zipper to enable yourself to get undressed without help; we bought a bunch of sparkly eyeglass leashes and use those for pulls, and they are quite girly and cute.
Posted: Nov 17, 2009Reviewer: Anonymous from ChicagoUnfortunately, this wasn\'t the swimsuit for me. I have boobs, and this swimsuit made them look really droopy, which they actually aren\'t! The suit also really accentuated my short waist. So if you\'re short-waisted or have big boobs, I would pass on this one.
Posted: Oct 16, 2009Reviewer: Travis g from GloucesterWas anticipating a quality product from Patagonia from previous purchases. This, however, was not the case. My first complaint is the cut. It is far too high in the hip and narrow in the crotch for young ones. It just never fit right from the start and only got worse. It stretched to the point where 3 months later it is unwearable. We are in the pool at least three times a week and this suit did not hold up to proper treatment. Suit thinned out and became threadbare for lack of a better term, almost see through. Sorry Patagonia, this is your first strike.
Posted: May 17, 2009Reviewer: Anonymous from Jacksonville, FLIt faded and the bottom sags! I weigh 135, I'm 5’6”, and slim. The suit looks great, but it kept riding up my behind on one side… then it started sagging under the bottom. It certainly should have lasted more than a few months. I am disappointed. I buy a lot of Speedo suits. This one flunked.
Posted: Apr 30, 2009Reviewer: Anonymous from Dallas, TXI like this suit, but it runs so, so small!! I wanted a suit with less coverage than your typical Speedo one-pieces, so I opted for this style. I am 5'3" tall, size 2 in street clothes (32" chest, 25" waist, 35" hips), and the 34 is really snug. It's not uncomfortable, but it is tight enough to where it's not particularly flattering. However, it's super comfy in the pool. It doesn't ride up, and the sides/back never get in the way of my strokes. I barely notice the suit in the water. If you have a chest, you probably want to opt for another style- this one is really low-cut. So, unless you don't have an ounce of fat on you (like the competitive swimmers I'm sure this was designed for, anyway), it will create a bit of a sausage look around the hips/lower back. I'm pretty lean, but this style is not something I'd want to be seen in...very comfy in the pool, though!
Posted: Apr 18, 2009Reviewer: Anonymous from Somerville, MassachusettsI ordered both these TYR suits for my daughter who does water aerobics 3 times a week. She is thrilled with both styles (Diamond back and Poly Splice) and has received may compliments from her fellow aerobics swimmers. Have never been disappointed in anything I have ordered from Zappos.
About Swimsuits
If the weather’s heating up or you’re planning a vacation, the perfect swimsuit will be at the top of your must-have list. Those who swim regularly know that swimsuits are year-round essentials. Choose the one that’s right for you, and make a splash!
Swimsuit season evokes fond memories of splashing in the waves and basking in the sun, but for some women, it also brings on the anxiety of hitting the beach with a less than perfect figure. Well, fear not! There are women’s swimsuits for every body type. Here are a few tips for successful shopping for all shapes...
Bigger on the bottom: If you’ve got a bottom-heavy silhouette, chose a one-piece style with a playful skirted hem.
Large on top: A swimsuit with built-in underwire gives the large-busted gal the lift and support she needs. A halter-style top that ties at the neck allows you to customize the fit. Wide straps provide comfort and support. Check out figure-flattering styles from Tommy Bahama®.
Small on top: Those less generously endowed can hit the beach feeling confidently cute in a bathing suit that features a ruched or ruffled top. Many swimsuits also offer padded cups. Opt for a demi-style top. Guess™ swimsuits are both flattering and on trend.
Long torso: The sexy and modern monokini provides a flattering fit. Traditional bikinis and tankinis are also great choices.
Short legs or torso: Lengthen your leg-line with a swimsuit that is cut high on the thigh. A solid bottom with a printed top creates the illusion of height.
Not so curvy: Make your waistline more prominent with a belted one-piece suit. Chose bikinis or one-piece suits that are cut high on the thigh.
Plus size: Opt for a one-piece suit or tankini in darker colors. A plus size swimsuit with built-in underwire and crisscrossing straps will provide the support you’re looking for.
Pregnant: Your best option is a tankini, specially designed for moms-to-be, that will accommodate your growing belly and look chic all season long. Check out fabulous maternity swimsuits from Belabumbum™.
Don’t forget, swim separates give you the option of getting just the right size for the top and bottom. Throw on a cover-up, like a sarong or sheer pullover, to complete that poolside-diva look.
Men have plenty of options too. Board shorts take you from the beach to the boardwalk in style. Brands like Volcom®, Oakley® and Diesel® offer an array of colors and prints to suit your style. Speedo® and TYR® offer men’s swimsuits that are perfect for training. If your summer plans include surfing, check out the great selection from Reef™, Fox™ and Hurley™.

Offering a complete line of swimsuits, rashguards and boardshorts, Roxy® Kids and Hurley™ Kids is sure to be at the top of any girl’s list. Don’t forget the classic swimwear silhouettes of Lilly Pulitzer® Kids, Petit Bateau™ and Kate Mack™.
