Another Stride Rite fan -
They were great when I was a kid & they're still great now. Nice to know some things stay the same. Stride Rite's wide shoes fit my son's high arches so comfortably. He loves this Higuma shoe b/c it has "grippy" soles & it looks so much like the pricey hiking shoes his grandfather wears.

Can’t go wrong -
These shoes will leave you with that feel good Stride Rite feeling of having bought a quality pair of shoes for your son. They meet and exceed and preconceived expectations I have come to expect out of Stride Rite. I have been buying Stride Rite for my son since he could walk due to his feet problems and shoe requirements, e.g. has flat feet, high comfort level, plus arch support needed, too lazy/busy to be bother tying. These fit the bill. Plus, now that he's 9, these particular shoes look a little more "hip".

Very nice looking and practical for an active child -
To be honest my 8 yr. old hasn't worn this shoe yet, but I am very picky about construction and this one is a winner. It could be used for a dressier occasion, but is also very rugged and looks quite comfortable. The only thing is the sizing is a bit larger than before, so we have to wait a bit before he can wear it. Other than that, my faith in Stride Rite has been restored. I thought for a while they were getting cheap with construction and materials but this style at least is very good. I got the lighter natural tones and they look really nice.

Great shoes for little boy’s wide feet!
These shoes look great for winter being that they are dark and are so easy for my 5 year old son to get on by himself - they open up widely, so he can get his foot in by himself, unlike some other sneakers we have had. The velcro straps are obviously great for helping to get us out the door fast, too.

The Perfect Shoe -
Easy On, Easy off. My 9 year old doesn't have to worry about tying his shoes. He has a wide foot and these are absolutely the best shoe. Very durable, too.

Old Reliable -
We bought 3 different brands of shoe in the same style and price range. My 7 y.o. son chose these stride rites. He doesn't know brands he just knows that they feel good. He has a foot that is very high on the top so we buy the wides and they are always a reliable fit. They look good even after going in the washing machine. The velcro stays nice and tight.

Narrower than marked?
My son loved this shoe out of the box. It is very well made and the sole is very grippy. However, although other Wide models by Stride Rite usually fit him, this one was not wide enough and a little stiff. We unfortunately had to return it and go for a different model as the XW was not is stock.

Eight-year old loves them!
Yet another Stride Rite velcro sneaker in wide that works for my son. Each year, we buy a similar style in the next size up. Thank you, Zappos!

Great shoes for a dress up -
My son wears a school uniform and these shoes look great with dress pants and jeans. The colors of tan and navy look very nice and at the same time and it’s a great tennis shoe for the playground. As always Stride rite makes a great wide shoe. And Zappos is awesome too!

My son loves these shoes. He has very wide feet and most shoes leave red marks the first few times that he wears them but these didn't.

Love these shoes - These shoes look sharp. The navy gives it a really classic look and my son can even wear these with slacks to church. He says they are super comfortable and so easy to get off and on.

Great shoes!
The shoes are comfortable, very flexible and a definitive winner with the velcro straps. They also look cool on my third grader who wears them all day long! I placed the order for these shoes and the next day my son was wearing them. I'm a returning Zappos customer and as always the service has been excellent.
