Great shoe for grandson - My grandson has cerebral palsy and this is a great shoe for him. With the velcro straps he can put his shoes on himself. The black color looks good for all situations.
Brands I'd also recommend: Look for the velcro

Wonderful Sturdy Shoe - This shoe is absolutely wonderful, my son is autistic, and cannot tie laces. He can put these on by himself. The support his foot and am the most comfortable shoe he says he ever has worn. Thank you for a great product.

Extremely pleased with this practical shoe... a refreshingly unadorned with logos shoe, which my 3 children all say is very comfortable and easy even for a 3 year old to put on and off without assistance.

Fantastic - My daughter is SO difficult to buy shoes for. Every single pair is too tight somewhere or uncomfortable in the sole or feels weird. (Yes, she is also bothered by tags and textures of clothing). And given that she is SO active, we desperately needed velcro. These shoes are the one and only pair after dozens tried that she liked. Stride Rite, PLEASE keep making these shoes!!!!! She LOVES them and both she and I are thrilled. She says they are SO comfortable.

Great Shoe - My son has a wide foot and I was able to get this shoe in half sizes in wide. They fit him perfect and he loves them.

Great - Great - Great - My son has a wide foot, and I can never find a true W width before but these are great, comfortable, perfect fit and nice looking. Because he is at the stage when looks matter and he loved them, I will also be purchasing the white ones this week. I love Zappos quick shipping you have earned a loyal customer. Not only for my son but also for myself.

Can't Tie? No Problem! I love that this shoe is available in such a wide range of sizes. My son has Autism, does not like change, and has a wide foot. This shoe is available as he grows so his shoe always "looks the same" as he grows AND no tying required! Boys move fast! Proud he can do himself! Great year-round school shoe (boy or girl).

Just Right ! I had been looking for school-required white, athletic shoes for my grandson in kindergarten. Zappos had the answer! There aren't many all white ones out there for boys. The service was superb - arriving early ! The shoe fits exactly, and a 6 year old and his grandma are happy !

Great shoe for autistic kids - My autistic son can't tie shoes, so the hook & loop straps make it convenient for him. They're also well made so they can take a beating! A good buy.

Excellent Shoe - I buy this shoe as a substitute for the gym shoe required by the private school my son attends. It is available in wide width and it is long lasting. The previous pair still looks good but since my son's feet grew, he can no longer wear them.

My Son's Favorite Shoe - These shoes are great. My son loves them. He has to wear black shoes for school as part of his uniform and refuses to wear any shoes but these. The Velcro makes it easy for him to take them off and put them on, and they look nice not only with school clothes, but with dress-up clothes as well!

Comfy and durable - My 7-YO son LOVES these. Come to think of it, he has grown up wearing nothing BUT Stride Rite shoes. He is a very active boy, so these shoes take a beating, and take it well. They have a flexible sole and he says they're comfortable -- I like how durable they are; well worth the price.

Stride Rite's Austin Hook and Loop are perfect for school! This is a great pair of shoes for school. They are all white and look great. All white velcro sneakers are hard to find and these are just perfect!
