I love the boot, contrary to the other review I think they fit very true to size. I am a 9 and ordered a 9 and they fit well. I too have a very skinny foot and heel and they fit great. I get tons of compliments on them each time I wear them. I got the grey stone washed color and they are awesome and go with a lot.

These boots are really beautiful; however, they are very narrow at the ankle and the zipper does not go all the way down the heel in the back, therefore, I couldn't get my foot into the boot. Several of the ladies in my office tried to get them on as well, and were also unsuccessful. I ordered the next size (8.5) and we all tried to get they on again. No luck! I will sadly return them.

I think this is a good boot for a person with a narrow foot, but otherwise, you will have to go up in size. I'm a very standard size 8, normal foot, not wide, not narrow. In boots, I order 8.5 so I can insert my custom orthotics. Even without the orthotics, I couldn't get my right foot into the 8.5 in this boot. Struggled mightily and got my left foot in and found it very tight, including on the calf. I'm returning the 8.5 and will try a larger size because they are cool boots. I have the Madden Girl Zoilee, the cheaper version, and the 8.5 is perfect, very easy to zip over jeans, but they don't come in black.

I love the look but I have struggled to get my foot into the boot. Too narrow and tight. Going to try a larger size.

I like these boots a lot, the slightly pointed toe on them gives them a little bit more of a feminine edge. They're pretty comfortable and I find them to be true to size, but the zippers don't zip down low enough to really fit your foot comfortably in for a long time until you finally wear them in. When I first bought these boots the zipper straight broke off when I is trying to zip them. Zappos replaced them with a new pair and so far so good. After weeks of wear I can finally put my foot in without hopping around like an idiot. I would say to order them in a half size bigger than you normally would just so you can fir your foot in but if I did that they would be too big once my foot is finally inside. I have just decided that this is a zipper design error.

I originally bought these boots in an 8 (my shoe size is 7.5 or 8). When they arrived I couldn't even get my heel into the heel of the boot, and I have pretty normal feet! I had bought the 8's because I have other Steve Madden boots that are also 8's. But I told Zappos and they sent me a pair of 8.5's to try out and they fit great!

I have wanted these boots so badly! I was afraid to order them after reading the reviews. I saw them in Dillard's yesterday and tried them on. Everything everyone that has had fitting issues said is true. The heel is so narrow that you cannot get your foot in without fear of breaking the zipper. I wear a 9B. I tried on a 9½. I do have high arches. After five minutes of struggling with a nylon and a shoe horn I did get my foot in. The heel bites on top of arch bites! Half a size bigger just makes for longer, more painful boots. What a shame the leather and design is so beautiful to look at.

Order a 1/2 size up. I couldn't get my foot in unless I did so and still even a bit of a struggle with the bigger size. Be patient putting them on! Very narrow where your foot is but hopefully the leather will stretch over time (my feet are narrow and it still feels tight). Nice quality material.

I wear a 9 1/2 and ordered a 10. I couldn't get my foot in at all. They look beautiful. I maybe will order an 11 now or 10 1/2?

Brands I'd also recommend: you need to get a bigger size. at least

I just purchased these boots and I have to say I was a little skeptical at first because of sizing. However, I took the chance and bought them anyway and I am glad I did! They were a pain to put on but I worked it until I got them on. I did order half size bigger than my normal shoe size (8 to an 8½). Once I got them on, I wore them around the house to break them in and they were fine. I love the look of them! The color is beautiful! So the struggle was worth it.

This boot is attractive but it has caused me severe blisters on my ankles. They are small and narrow and I believe I got a pair that someone had ripped trying to get their foot into such a small boot. Steve Madden needs to stop making such tiny boots and pay attention to the part of the show that that touches the back ankle. What was he thinking? Did he put spiked card board back there or what?!

I wonder what is going on with these boots. I read all the reviews and still bought a pair because I love the look of these. One boot went on just fine but the other one took stretching, a shoe horn, and wearing a nylon to squeeze it on! I can't even say they run small because once they were on they felt about a half size too big. I have fairly high arches so that may be the problem but I think since so many of us had the problem then it must be the boot. I'm going to keep them and hope with some wear it will be easier to get on.

I really wanted grey boots that were sleek and a low heel. I read so many reviews on other sites saying how hard these were to get on and there was a design flaw with the zipper not going down far enough. I wanted to buy them online so bad, but was scared they would not fit, so passed it up. Recently while in a larger city with a Nordstroms I tried them on. My smaller foot went in with just a few tugs, while my slightly larger left foot refused to go in. I gave up and then went back 10 minutes later to try again. I wanted them to fit so badly! I literally pulled and wiggled for about 20-30 minutes until finally my heel hit that pocket and slipped into the boot. They fit great once on! I wore them out of the store and all the rest of the day. The second time I wore them it only took about 3 minutes to wiggle in and I know after time the leather will become more supple and they will soon be easier to get on. So I must say, if you love them, try hard to get them on, and it will get easier! The leather on the stone color is really a dark grey, almost black, very pretty!

I've been looking for a nice, reasonably-priced pair of tall leather boots for quite some time, and I thought these were it...but they don't fit. I bought a half size bigger than I normally wear, but should have went up a whole size bigger. Can't get my heels into the boot Sadly, I'm sending them back.
