The Steve Madden Gramm boots are pretty cool but the toe area turns up slightly. There's a zipper on the side for easy on/off without having to untie the laces and there are two hooks for the top two eyelets for even more easy access. The out-sole seems a little thin but there's adequate padding inside and the boot is really comfortable right out of the box. And I'd say the weight is not too light and not too heavy. I normally wear size 10 -- sometime 9 1/2 depending on the shoe -- but I think Madden boots feel a half size bigger based on my previous experience, so I went with a 9 1/2 and the Gramm fits perfectly. Hopefully they'll last because they feel a little flimsy around the ankle. Get them on sale. Love Zappos! Service is still top notch!

I ordered these in 12s and had issues with the zipper pulling out of the bottom. Sent them back with zero issues from Zappos and still wanted the boots so I ordered again but had to order 1/2 size down since they were out of the 12s. The 11.5s fit perfect. The zipper feels much sturdier, they look cool and I often get compliments on them. The only downside to them would be their tendency to scuff. I feel like they are beginning to have that "worn" look even though they come nice and polished out of the box. If you're careful, you could keep them nice and pretty but I use them as dress shoes for work and double them as motorcycle riding boots on days when it is nice enough to ride to work.

I bought these, in brown. Zappos got em to me quick fast as always. The look great and on the foot and off. However the build quality is utter garbage. The sole(s) on both shoes are coming off after less than 2 months of moderate wear. I sit down most of the day. Ridiculous. I contacted Steve Madden to figure out what they were going to do to make it right and they referred me to Zappos to solve the problem. Unimpressed. Overpriced. Garbage. Do not buy these shoes.

There is a big ugly, silver, Frankenstein stitches looking zipper on the side of the boot the aren't showing you. Other than that, it's good. I hate the zipper, think it is ugly as heck, returning mine. If you like/don't mind the zipper, you may like the boot.

My wonderful girlfriend got me these boots for Christmas, and so far they've served me well as I partook in activities such as clam digging and face stomping. These boots also look pretty alright. My only gripes with the shoe are that the tongue on one foot likes to hide behind my ankle, and that the zipper on the side takes much force operate. Overall it's a pretty good boot.

Nice boots. Decent construction though I wish the sole had some lugs for better traction, and a real heel instead of a fully rubber heel and sole would have been better. Overall though they look good and are very comfortable. I have narrow feet and these were just narrow enough to fit me with or without thick socks. I agree with other reviewers that the zipper is stubborn to operate. I do like how it looks though, looks very Frankenstein which I think is cool. Leather seems kind of thin and I hope it holds up well.

These shoes are terribly constructed. The leather is poorly dyed, the zipper is too hard to work and actually is not stitched at the bottom, so the pull comes off...and the sole detached, this is within one week of purchase. Do not buy these shoes.
