Spira makes it easier to stand, walk, run and compete without the stress and fatigue associated with traditional shoe midsole materials. Spira heel and forefoot spring configurations are engineered for specific activities to meet individual needs. Sport Biomechanics, Inc. tested the WaveSpring™ technology and found it had the highest return of energy of any shoe technology they have ever tested — 87-96%. Traditional midsole materials work through compression and often breakdown quickly. The WaveSpring™ is mechanical. The spring will outlast the shoe. The wearer will have a "new shoe" feel from the first day it is worn to the last!
Spira believes the WaveSpring™ technology will revolutionize the footwear industry as well as the purpose and function of footwear. As soon as you step into a pair of Spira shoes you will understand why.

I suffer from neuropathy. The Spira Wave Walkers have greatly relieved my pain. I don't usually write reviews but had to in this case. These are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned.

Excellent shoes so far. Very comfortable and they make my standing up shifts at work feel like nothing. Highly recommended for anyone who remains on their feet for long periods of time. It feels a little narrow at first but it may have just been in my head, because now that they're broken in, it's excellent. :)

Many people who have bought this shoe from Zappos work in healthcare. I am a nurse and I'm on my feet all day. Although these shoes seem to be more comfortable than your average white sneaker, I find MBTs far more comfortable in every respect. I bought this because I had to have an all white, comfortable shoe, but MBT has a much better all-white model.
I'd also recommend: MBT

When I first began wearing the Wave Walkers, they felt a bit uncomfortable, primarily because I could feel the effect of the springs against the bottoms of my feet. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the shoes had minimal arch support. So, I inserted some Dr. Scholl's arch supports, and they made a big difference. The shoes are now very comfortable to wear.
