Spira makes it easier to stand, walk, run and compete without the stress and fatigue associated with traditional shoe midsole materials. Spira heel and forefoot spring configurations are engineered for specific activities to meet individual needs. Sport Biomechanics, Inc. tested the WaveSpring™ technology and found it had the highest return of energy of any shoe technology they have ever tested — 87-96%. Traditional midsole materials work through compression and often breakdown quickly. The WaveSpring™ is mechanical. The spring will outlast the shoe. The wearer will have a "new shoe" feel from the first day it is worn to the last!
Spira believes the WaveSpring™ technology will revolutionize the footwear industry as well as the purpose and function of footwear. As soon as you step into a pair of Spira shoes you will understand why.

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I am extremely happy with my purchase. I love the fit. The top of my feet are in pain most of the time and these shoes have helped tremendously. I would recommend this shoes to anyone who wants to be comfortable. I did get it half a size smaller like they recommended and this worked for me. Very happy with my purchase. Well worth the price.

These shoes are horrible. I bought these hoping they would make my feet feel better after wearing out my old work shoes, but they feel worse, much worse. In fact my whole lower body started hurting since I started wearing these, but it's too late to return them after wearing them to work to find that they are awful. So I'm stuck until I have more money to spend on expensive shoes that may or may not work out.

Absolutely the most comfortable shoes ever. I opened up the box and put these shoes on and it felt like someone had already broke them in. I have a lot of trouble with my feet so it was a relief to find some that are so comfortable. I thought New Balance was the only shoe for me till I got my Spira's. They will be the only one for me from now on. Well worth the money.

Very comfortable. I got them for an upcoming trip which will involve a bit of walking. So far they seem like a great choice.

A basic looking shoe with surprisingly great comfort. My feet don't hurt after a 12 hour shift of walking. I would try the full spring next time.

These are not bad shoes, and they have some very good points, but I am not as impressed with them as I expected to be from the description. The good: *The toe box is nice and wide, and it's high enough to fit real toes on a wide forefoot without cramping. *They are deep enough to accommodate custom orthotics. *They are supportive. *The all black styling makes them subtle enough to wear to work (office environment) on days when my knees demand supportive shoes. The not-so-good: *They really do not seem all that springy and they are definitely not cushiony in the heel area. The stride in these feels a lot harsher than it did with my previous non-Spira walking shoes. There is not much lift in the heel. That can be good if you have thick orthotics that you need to fit in, but otherwise, the heel counter rubs rather badly. (At least, it did on me.) *For me, the tongue of these shoes leaves the top of both feet red and swollen, even through thick socks. I had to put moleskin on the underside of the tongue to prevent this. I don't know if it's a different material than the rest of the shoe or if it's the pressure, but be careful if you have high insteps and/or sensitive skin. The forefoot comfort and the fact that my knees don't hurt are important enough that I've kept these and made the necessary adjustments to compensate for their flaws. Don't get me wrong, they are good shoes- they are just not the answer to every need that the manufacturer's ad copy would suggest they are.
I'd also recommend: Brooks Addiction Walker
