Interested in new Spira products?
Spira makes it easier to stand, walk, run and compete without the stress and fatigue associated with traditional shoe midsole materials. Spira heel and forefoot spring configurations are engineered for specific activities to meet individual needs. Sport Biomechanics, Inc. tested the WaveSpring™ technology and found it had the highest return of energy of any shoe technology they have ever tested — 87-96%. Traditional midsole materials work through compression and often breakdown quickly. The WaveSpring™ is mechanical. The spring will outlast the shoe. The wearer will have a "new shoe" feel from the first day it is worn to the last!
Spira believes the WaveSpring™ technology will revolutionize the footwear industry as well as the purpose and function of footwear. As soon as you step into a pair of Spira shoes you will understand why.

I run 10 or 15 marathons per year. Seriously, theses shoes are the best I have personally used. They feel light compared to my Ascis and extremely responsive. My feet do not feel as tired and sore after 26.2 as they had with other brands. They do run a bit small and narrow, but not much. I will be buying these again, as I go through 4 or more shoes each year.

I have been running for 47 years, and in addition to the original Spira Stinger racing flat, the Spira line of running/racing shoes are the best ever made. The Spira XLT has been designed to perfection. Once you start wearing these shoes, there is no going back to any other.
I'd also recommend: No other brands

I am impressed by the cushioning and the springy feel. I was wearing size 11.5 with the stinger racing and fits like a glove but this XLT is narrow on the width and longer on toe and heel area. It's definitely harder to run downhill if these extra spaces. I would suggest getting it half your size for snug fit unless your want it the other way. Too bad I ordered half a size bigger and can't return it because I used before I realized its not comfy running half a size longer.

Shoes run wide, a half size small, very thin tongue. The ride is very cushioned. Bought shoes for my long runs due to the spring technology, but due to fit and comfort, will only be using these for my 5-6 milers and recovery runs.

I love my pair of XLTs. They are slightly heavier than my spira Stinger 2s, but the added weight pays off nicely with an even springier feeling while running (or walking). There is plenty of space above the toes which is key for me too. i use mine mostly on the treadmill and paved roads putting about 16 or so miles on them a week. i also fly a lot for business and these shoes have become my go-to when traveling. They leave my feet significantly less fatigued after a day of hustling through airports. i would definitely buy these shoes again.
