- Contoured, 5mm EVA footbed can be removed to accommodate orthotics.
- Molded EVA midsole has a single WaveSpring® in the heel and a dual WaveSpring in the forefoot to deliver maximum shock absorption, reduce fatigue, and provide a very responsive ride. The WaveSprings are low profile, lightweight and are made of stainless steel so they won't rust.
- Built-in arch shank supplies added torsional stability and support.
- Blown rubber outsole with high abrasion rubber in the heel area, for long-lasting durability.
- Forefoot flex grooves allow for more natural flexibility through the gait cycle.
- Made on a semi-curved training last with proven fit characteristics.

I love these shoes! I have really bad feet but am still very active, these shoes along with my orthotics allow me and my feet to continue to live an active life! When I put them on it's as if my feet sigh because of the relief! Before I bought the Spira Odyssey shoes my legs would ache, now because of the springs they never ache! Thank you Spira engineers for making such an excellent and good looking shoe!

While this shoe is very comfortable, I don't quite get the spring thing. It doesn't feel that much different than other athletic shoes, but I am relying on the theory behind the construction to ease foot shock. I think they are worth the money, but I do wonder about wearing them through airport security. Love the idea of them.

I purchased these shoes after seeing them cut open at a local store so I could visibly see the springs in them. I'm a female who is overweight, so I get tired easily. I also have knee problems. These shoes really take absorb the shock in my knees. I can jog now and run down the stairs without pain. I really think these springs work. I wore New Balance prior to these. Those were fine, but these seem better for shock absorption and cushion.
Brands I'd also recommend: New Balance, Brooks, Birkenstocks, Dansko

These are probably the 8th pair of Spira shoes for me. They are very comfortable. I would say they are the best so far. I would love to have a second pair just for work. Zappos your delivery and service is unbelievable. I don't know how you do it! Five stars for Zappos

My heel started to hurt when I walked over 1 mile. Legs and calves feel no different, not at all like thy state thy would help your legs and back.

These are great shoes. Walking is much easier in them, you just kind of spring along. The fit is true to size, good arch support, and nice looking. Lots of reflector. I would definetly order them again.

I bought this shoe because I'm 43 years old but still love to run, jump and play. I have chronic hip/pelvic and low back pain. The Spira Odyssey seems to absorb some of the impact. For the past 10 years or so, I had been wearing the Brooks Ariel for its support and stability. I lose a little in the support/stability areas but gain in the impact absorbtion with the Odyssey

This is a well-fitting shoe. I've got size 12 feet which are narrow-to-medium in width, and the width on these is great. The sole does energize your step and is comfortable right from the start. I do wish the tongue was just a touch longer, it doesn't slip down, but it just barely comes above the lace area.

These shoes are extremely comfortable. I work 12 hour shifts and my feet feel great at the end of the day. They are true to size (I have wide feet) and require no break-in period.

I have been wearing these shoes for 7+ years...I have arthritis and feel 30 years younger when I wear them...I wear them everywhere except to weddings! I wear them with Khakis and jeans a lot. I've had ankle/arthritis problems and with these I can walk up to about 2 1/2 miles a day...I like these better than the Genesis shoes (the next price up) because these are lighter weight and easier on my ankles...and more flexible. I'm 59 and I just don't buy extra clothes I don't need...instead I spend the money on these and I enjoy my whole life more!
