This is the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Ever. It's like walking on a thick, springy moss, plus wonderful stability -- and I've spent over a lot of money on shoes this year, trying to alleviate bone bruising on my heel (thanks to super high arches). A custom orthotic from the Podiatrist finally did the trick! Unfortunately, these shoes run 1/2 size too small and very narrow. I couldn't fit the center of my sport orthotic into the shoe and had to reorder a wider pair. I'm a little annoyed by the sizing discrepancy and wanted to save everyone the wait for replacement. Other than that, I love the shoes, and have already ordered a pair for my husband and mom! (They both ordered up 1/2 a size, and the shoes fit perfectly.)
Brands I'd also recommend: Orthaheel sandals, birkenstock

I bought these for Zumba. I use orthotics yet my knees still hurt, due to pronating inward (flat feet). I had hoped for smooth pivoting to prevent knee injury, but didn't get it. They were also too narrow.

About Spira
Spira makes it easier to stand, walk, run and compete without the stress and fatigue associated with traditional shoe midsole materials. Spira heel and forefoot spring configurations are engineered for specific activities to meet individual needs. Sport Biomechanics, Inc. tested the WaveSpring™ technology and found it had the highest return of energy of any shoe technology they have ever tested — 87-96%. Traditional midsole materials work through compression and often breakdown quickly. The WaveSpring™ is mechanical. The spring will outlast the shoe. The wearer will have a "new shoe" feel from the first day it is worn to the last!
Spira believes the WaveSpring™ technology will revolutionize the footwear industry as well as the purpose and function of footwear. As soon as you step into a pair of Spira shoes you will understand why.
