Spira Reviews
First impressions of these shoes are fantastic, apparently there is technology built into these shoes to absorb shock, after having them on for only a few minutes I would have to agree! Normally I wear a 7, and a 7 1/2 to 8 in running shoes; however the 8 and it was much too big! Currently I in the exchange process to find find my correct size. Do not size up on this shoe as most athletes do, order your normal shoe size or up a half of size. Their web site recommends ordering your regular shoe size. I would deferentially recommend trying Spira shoes specially if you are looking looking for a high quality running / walking shoe that will absorb shock!
I love my pair of XLTs. They are slightly heavier than my spira Stinger 2s, but the added weight pays off nicely with an even springier feeling while running (or walking). There is plenty of space above the toes which is key for me too. i use mine mostly on the treadmill and paved roads putting about 16 or so miles on them a week. i also fly a lot for business and these shoes have become my go-to when traveling. They leave my feet significantly less fatigued after a day of hustling through airports. i would definitely buy these shoes again.
I have heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, and a surgically reconstructed tendon in one ankle. I can stand for hours in these shoes and feel zero pain or fatigue. They are among the most comfortable and supportive shoes I have ever found (Other Spira models are just as comfortable.). There is only one significant problem, which is the tread wore off completely in six months. This is a big problem if you need them to be anti-slip for work codes (such as hospitals). They were the best shoes I've ever owned though until the tread wore off.
This is my second pair of Spira WaveWalker. I am on my feet all day at work. I tried other shoes, but nothing feels as good as these. Fast service, too.
This shoe is so hard I'm amazed anyone called it comfortable. I tried them on and the hard arch ran like a ridge from one side of my foot to the other. The tongue is super padded and the shoe fit OK. I couldn't stand to walk or stand on this concrete-like sole/arch. Right back to Zappos. Good riddance. Very expensive, and not worth it.
This a great sneaker if you want to go running or just walk around town. I purchased it for dancing and Zumba in particular. There is no pivot point in these sneakers and I cannot glide on the floor the way I'd like to. I'm really disappointed b/c of previous reviews. I have a true gliding sneaker by Block and have also used the Zumba brand sneaker for classes and these work well. When I wore one on each foot this Spira did not compare. Again, it's a great sneaker, beautiful looking but not for my need. Order a 1/2 size up and it will be perfect.
My lower back loves this shoe (love the springs) but my ankle that rolls needs a little more support so I am going to try a different model. This shoe runs small, I am a 9D according to the shoe sizing gauge and a 10 D in this model which compares to a 10 regular in Brooks and now that New Balance has changed sizing (I was 9D) now 10 regular.
Wonderful for arthritic feet. Have actually increased my walking because the springs make up for what my feet have lost. I purchased these a size bigger than normal and have no issues with either fit, blisters, bunions, hammertoes, etc.! Now own two pairs of the XLTs so I can alternate.
I fractured a major bone in my foot some years ago. As years passed, buying comfortable shoes became more and more difficult. Last fall I ordered more than 10 pair of comfort shoes from three high end retailers. All were returned and I returned to my old, worn out shoes. In Feb, I decided to try again and ordered this shoe. When it came, I cautiously tried on the left shoe, then set them aside and tried the other shoe in an hour or so. Oh well, the next morning I decided to try on both shoes at one time before returning them. These shoes are awesome - giving more support in the right places to troubled feet than any shoes I have ever worn. I no longer have the aches and pains related to a fractured metatarsal bone. I am past retirement and this is the best shoe I have ever worn.
I'm an over pronator and normally use Brooks Addiction for stability but over the course of the workout my feet ached. I work out 4 or 5 times a week so put a beating on my shoes. Spira was new to me so I thought I would give it a shot. These shoes feel great. I can do a full workout and my feet don't feel achy and tired. I find them very comfortable. My feet don't feel hot as they are nicely ventilated. I've used them heavily over the past month and they have been holding up fine so far.
Comfortable, has springy support for your workouts and I do recommend to size up by 1/2 a size. I wear an 8 and bought an 8 1/2.
GREAT shoe and I'll buy it again, but will get a full size larger than I usually wear. I think the text did advise that and I didn't listen. I'm a respiratory therapist and work very busy 12 hour shifts, constantly walking on concrete floors, sometimes carrying heavy stuff. On days when I wear these shoes, my lower back pain is not nearly what it was (I had trouble getting into my car after a shift). I've been telling all my colleagues about them. Expect more orders from southern in!
These are the best. I stand up all day on a cement floor. I Can do it with out pain now! Great support and cushion.
These shoes are quite comfortable and very light and with good support. The balls of my feet were a little sore the first few times I wore them but that seemed to get better. I probably will buy these again.
I absolutely love these shoes! I have chronic lower back pain and it typically flares up when I walk...since wearing these shoes I have not had a flare up and can comfortably walk longer and with no effort. I walk about 3 miles a day for exercise and that's not counting all the walking I do throughout the day at work! I plan on purchasing another pair soon. I wish they were a little more fashionable but that is so far down my wish list.
I had a pair of these and when they wore out I bought another pair. I like them overall, but there are some things I didn't like. 1. The shoe strings will not stay tied and that gets to be rather annoying. Even when double knotting them before the end of the day they would be untied. 2. The eyelets are some form of plastic and on both pairs I've had the upper eyelets break or have a crack on one side of the eyelet and the shoestring would then hang up in that crack making them harder to loosen when taking the shoe off. 3. Eventually the outer sole will separate from the inner sole. When that happens they will start to squeak when you walk. On both of mine that happened when I still had quite a bit of wear available on the outer soles.

I have always loved the Spira classic lace up show but ordered the EZ strap because it cost so much less. I thought the fit was a little snug (short) but thought it would stretch out with wear. The left shoe is still not quite fitting in length but right seems to have adjusted. Next time my order will be for the lace up even if never on sale.
This is the 5th pair of these I have purchased. I walk between buildings in the winter snow & in the rain. The higher sole that accommodate the springs keeps the leather looking good. I have a wide foot, but the toe box on these is good for my feet. By the time I get around to buying a new pair I wonder why I waited so long. These shoes are so comfortable and a joy to walk in.
Well..I too am on my feet a lot. I currently have the standard plantar fasciitis and my bunions at nearly 50's of age are just now shifting my toes. I went to my podiatrist due to an inflammation on the top of my foot. Since I've worn these shoes in my correct width I don't have this issue of pain or swelling. I do agree with another customer there is "NO Spring" in the step..although I don't need cushy, I expected more of a sneaker fill but a firm..These are too firm. I do have inserts and a special set waiting for me at my doctor for 600.00$. I am using the inserts and that makes it much more comfortable for me to walk. I don't have any rubbing on my toes and room to move all of my piggies. I do think I can go a 1/2 size smaller. I did order the 2x wide and I'm used to snugger shoes. I almost feel I could go 1x wide and be OK. These shoes have a deep toe box but my heels do slip so I may? just try for the smaller size and keep the width so my custom inserts will work great. I did get these specifically for inserts on their own and they are great for the sole.
Not worth the price. These are not that great unless they last 3 times longer than comparable shoes and I am a mail carrier using them every day. Not much ventilation. Normal break in period. Look good and feel good but not worth the high price.
Have bought these shoes for years, and absolutely love them. Fit great, feel great. I wear orthotics, and they work well with them.
